Suggest a PCMCIA LAN Card

blr_p

Northstar
onboard NIC on my trusty t21 is blown :(

Looking for a PCMCIA LAN card, can anyone suggest one ?

This is for a wired 10/100 ethernet connection.

heh, i got one of those and it turned out to be a real piece of crap!

so why get hub + usb lan card when you can just get a pCMCIA and be done with it.

I've scouted out the prices so hopefully I won't get raped when i hit SP road.

No branded stuff available in this config nowadays, just chinese no name stuff :(

Thx for the tip :)

So checked them out and they have just one product (amongst a ton of others) that does it.

It just so happens that its sold out :(

But otherwise no branded stuff there, for my particular reqmt.

I'd have no probs with a no-name card so long as it worked tho.

This one looks interesting, how do you find its performance ?

I'll give their support a ring on monday to see what they have :)

Saw these yesterday, all of them no name brands.

A good proper d-link will cost you about 800-1000rs with warranty. AFAIK D-link has got good after sales service.

you also have have Linksys (Cisco) for 1200-1400rs. Do shop around. the performance is good on my sify 256kbps unlimited internet connection which my father uses.

Yeah, those are the kind of prices One expects to pay.

Asked in some comp store and the guy quoted me Rs.1,400 for 10/100 & Rs.2,100 for a gigabit one. Yeah right !!!

Made by some company called RTMA

There's 2 cards of interest here,
the 10/100 one &
the gigabit one

Which one were you referring to when you said the expected price range is Rs.800-1000 ?

I'm thinking you meant the gigiabit one.
