Suggest a Rugged Phone.....

My friend wants to gift a phone to his GF,

He wants the phone to be rugged enough to take frequent falling and getting wet in rain........ :p

the specs need not be too high compared to wave or N8......... can be touch or qwerty or normal..... but it needs to be good in music playback..........3g is desirable........
budget 15k (stretchable if the phone is really good......)

all above are too rugged and low on specs.......... suggest some with better specs........
 
^+1 to the Defy, "Gorilla Glass screen, dustproof and water-resistant", not very sure of the price though, AFAIK its around the 20K price point.
 
Believe it or not, the most rugged phone I've ever used is the HTC Legend. That aluminum unibody can really take a beating. I've dropped my phone MANY times and there are only very slight scratches that you can find on the body and that too after searching carefully for them. The screen doesn't have a SINGLE scratch on it yet in more than 6 months of usage even after dropping it face first on the road.

My friend even dropped it into a small puddle of water during heavy rain. I was mortified when call volume was very low immediately but removing the battery and drying it out for a few hours made it normal again.

This phone's seriously built like a truck.

You might be able to get it for 15k now. We just got Android 2.2 yesterday too.
