I dont like to shave a lot. So wanted to try some trimmer. Budget is ~1k

I have narrowed it down to philips QT4019 and Andis BTB. Which one of these two is a better choice. Usage would be once or twice a week.

Better alternates are also welcome.

Philips QT4019 Trimmer(Black and Red and Grey)

Andis BTB 14-Piece Cordless Personal Trimmer(Black)

I have the Phillips one since 6 months. Does its job very well

Philips QT4019 Trimmer
3/4 settings for your beard length. Comes with no other attachment than the plastic cover comb on the shaving head.

Gives the impression of a shearing tool. But no complains as i dont maintain any fancy beard style. Works great for people who either want a stubble or a clean shave.

^ My philips trimmer only works with battery , it does not work when power adapter is attached, it only charges the battery . I have the 7 in 1 version.

Power cord is for charging the battery and for those times when you need to use the trimmer and it is out of charge.

Oh,though it will work directly using electicity.

Thanks for clearing my doubt.

Then it mean if battery died trimmer will die too ?

Do u think using direct electricity could be better for long run and will make trimmer powerfull too ?

If battery died you can still use it with the power cord attached. No idea if its good for long run. And yeah with power cord attached trimmer works with full power, with battery low the movement of blades slow down a little.

QT4019 works perfectly with power cord attached

Got a QT4019 as well.Bought it for 950 INR from Letsbuy.com.Works great for the price. The only downside being the pathetic after sales service from Philips. One of my friends had to go throught it and let me tell you it was horrendous.

Thanks guys, will go for the QT4019. Cheapest among reliable sites is Rs.1110/- from flipkart. Any other good deals?

I knew about that offer from another site before ordering. But Indiatimes has pathetic rating. 6% people of nearly 100 odd reviews in mouth shut recommend it. Didn't want to waste my time trying to save Rs.51.

Thanks for sharing the info on indiatimes.. Firstly congratz on your purchase.. A small review on the product at receipt would be great.. Thought of ordering it from indiatimes.. Now will get from infibeam itself.. Btw, was Panasonic ER206KK in your list while making your purchase decition?? What made you go for QT 4019??

Will receive it only after a week i guess.(I am in southern tip whereas the product needs to be shipped from Delhi)

Quite a few users around the forums and 100's of reviews in flipkart. I guess it would make a better read

I was fixed on QT4019 because of large user base and reviews it had. Was confused because the Andis one had some many different attachments. But then since I am a newbie to trimmers and based on popular forum advice decided to stick to the Philips.
