Can you suggest a UPS for the following configuration:

AMD PhenomII X4 955 BE | Gigabyte GA-880GA-UD3H | Corsair 2*2GB DDRIII | Seagate 1 TB | MSI Nvidia N560GTX-Ti Twin Frozr II | Benq G2220HD | NZXT Gamma | Seasonic 520W PowerSupply (S12II-520).

I just need a little time to save the work and have a safe shutdown not for a long backup. In my city power outages are seriously doubled.

Hey! I've been using the IBall Nirantar UPS 1080 which is 1000VA/600 W for over a year now, it has been good. get almost 50 Minutes of Backup Battery. but i guess if you just need a few minutes to save your data go for any standard APC UPS they will give you atleast 10-15 mins of backup time

Get APC 650VA.. It will suit your needs and also has a very good Surge Protection.. Also it can be monitored via PC.. :)

thnks Hallflife, assimenator!

My friend has a Corsair VX450 as his power supply. He does not use a dedicated GPU with the same config.

Suggesting him a APC 600VA or a Numeric 600VA a good idea?

Not sure if an APC 650VA can handle a 955BE+GTX560.The ups might show overload while gaming and turn off instantly.Try and get a 800va model if you can.

eXtreme Power Supply Calculator

calculate your CPU power consumption using the above link. and Add 45watts (your monitor) you ll get total power consump
Power factor of UPS is 60% tat is if a ups rates 600va then the max power output it support is 360w ( 60%x600)

n check if total consumption of your PC falls within tat .... :)
