Hi,
First I'd like a CPU cooler suggestion. My budget is upto 5k.
The options I'm considering are:-
1.Noctua NH-U12P SE2 120mm
2.Zalman CNPS10X Extreme/CNPS11X Extreme
3.Zalman CNPS9900 MAX
4.CoolerMaster V6GT
The only problem with the Noctua is that I can't stand the color. So what do you guys think about the other options?I really like how the Zalmans look and I've seen good reviews on many sites
My main requirements are:-
1.Must fit in my cabby
2.Must preferably have everything required in the packaging like TIM,Fans
Also please suggest a high resolution webcam which will suffice for doing a computer vision project.I'm not at all familiar with web cam costs so tell me the best i can get for 1k.

Thanks in Advance.

As far as webcam is concerned, you won't get anything decent under 1k. For computer vision, you don't need high resolutions. I would say a 320 x 240 resolution with lag free and noise free capture is what you should be looking at. Most webcam's these days are CMOS based and lag like hell and have a lot of noise and to add to that the on-board compression circuits takes away most of the detail that you need for vision projects. When we were doing computer vision projects 9 years back, we used a Logitech Quickcam Pro series webcam that had a CCD sensor and could capture lag free at 320x240 @ 30FPS. It was bought for 12k at the time.

At the moment I think your best bet would be a Playstation Eye which should cost like 1.8k. For that price its a real steal considering that it can capture and send raw data and can do 320 x 240 @ 120FPS. Do note however that I haven't tired to use it in any vision project myself, but it is a very favorite choice among the computer vision communities. Also note that I don't mean to say that you cannot try doing vision projects with any cheapo camera, but believe me, its not worth the trouble you have to go though because of the poor quality.

Cpu cooler options are-

Thermalright Silver Arrow-4.1k

Noctua-nh-d14-4.3k

Noctua NH-U12P SE2-3.9k

ZALMAN CNPS11X EXTREME-3.5k

I think you should go for Noctua NH-U12P SE2 cause i am unsure of thermalright siver arrow will fit in your case.

Thanks...playstation eye looks really nice, although 1.8k is a little more than i'm willing to spend...i'll test my project out with 120fps input videos and see if it's worth the extra money.

hmm..size is really the issue here.I will be upgrading my cabby by May so I don't want to compromise on performance right now because my cabby is small.I'll probably buy a NZXT phantom or a HAF case when I start working .ie in May.So if anyone can confirm if Noctua NH-D14 or Silver Arrow or any other cooler of the same caliber fits then I will buy that eyes closed.
