Suggest Audio setup: Budget 15k

Hi

I have adjusted to some average audio setups gladly but the audio of the Panasonic Viera 42PV70H is A-T-R-O-C-I-O-U-S.

I have the entry level LG plasma TV in the other room and it has much much much better sound than this POS :@

I need an audio setup...Need Speakers and Receiver.

Budget is strictly 15k. I cant import from abroad.

Please advice.
 
u want an audio system to hook up to ur tv? in that case wud suggest u get something like a 2.1 or 5.1 powered audio system. altec lansing has some good models.

the budget of 15K for a "decent" reciever + a pair speakers sounds a bit low i think. try to extend the budget by another 10K. maybe then you squeeze in a Sonodyne AVR300 reciever + a pair of cinque bookshelf and sub. should come in this budget. later on you can add a centre and surrounds.

other options i can think of is a 5.1 powered speaker setup from JBL (dont remember the model name) or else try to look for the entry level package from Onkyo or look at the sony 5.2 setup (model: HT-DDW685) mrp is 19990/- maybe you can lower the price by making use of your bargaining skills.

I would go with the recommendations of a decent integrated setup - the MX5021 is a good suggestion. I would wonder about a 5.1, a 5.1 PC setup can't fill a large room adequately.

Anything bigger than this will be ambitous, unless like Greenie or others you don't mind getting your hands dirty with some custom or DIY work.
 
I am not too fussy... I just need decent sound. I need the speakers for my TV. Wish there were good plug and play speakers where I dnt need receiver :P I use the xbox360 to play movies.

Was thinking the same. Can I connect it straight to the headphone jack of the TV?
 
My friend bought a philips decoder with 5.1 speakers and connected it to the xbox 360 by a optical cable. the sound is really awesome while playing halo 3.

He bought it for 10k+~2k for the optical cable.

Hey Boo,

What decoder is that mate? You might make my day as i m planning on the Altec FX5051s, but stuck as they don't have any digital input. :huh:
