hey friends, my 10 years old Whirlpool refrigerator is about to die, i am planning for a bottom freezer refrigerator, please suggest one with a good 5 star rating ?

have reviewed the following

* Hitachi Ref R-26SVND (around 30k)

* Panasonic NR-BW414SS (around 30k)

* Samsung RL41WCPS1 (around 35k)

* Samsung RL67MCPN1 (around 50k)

my max budget is max 25k - 30k, i would want to know if any TE Member is using bottom freezer refrigerator, please share something ?

Thanks

Panasonic is good. Fellow TE member got one for 22k ~2 years back. Probably a smaller model though. Was around 300L IIRC. Choose between the Hitachi and Panasonic. Check the piece thoroughly before buying.

Using a Proton 300 Ltr from whirlpool for 1 yr

found it to be good- was 25k

capacity though quoted 300 L- is bigger than my earlier 310L LG

Go for Panasonic. The price is very reasonable. The one you have listed above is the normal one, if you go for an Inverter one with same capacity it will cost you 35K approx. Am also planning to get the same model(414 Ltrs w/t inverter), but delayed due to space constrains in the kitchen. I liked the model you have mentioned for two main reason: 1. It is not very tall unlike other brands; my mom is not tall, so she wont have to raise her heels to look for things at the top shelf. 2 - It is very wide, making it easier to fit large/broad vessels in the body. I could have gone for the smalled 363 Ltrs but that is too tall for my mom.

Hitachi: is overpriced and the space inside is very narrow. The have allocated too much space to door pockets. That is OK for western countries where they keep plastick Milk bottles and the like, but not needed for us here in India.

Samsung: is overpriced. The water dispenser is a waster of space. Eats up too much space on the inside. The freezer is too big (for me atleast).

Haier also has bottom mount models, but I found that it allocates almost 50% space to freezer which is such a waste.

Panasonic has the best Fridge/freezer ratio.

And dont forget the last decision will be taken by the Lady of the house...so don't forget to ask her what she likes....else you have burnt toasts for breakfast !

I find myself in the same situation as you were in 2011. So please tell me finally did you go for Panasonic as the replies were hinting or Whirlpool or Hitachi or something else - I am looking for a bottom freezer option. Please help!
