^^ For this Sire a good configuration is --

Intel Core i3 2100 ~ 6200/- OR Intel Pentium Dual Core G 620 ~ 3600/-

Intel DH-67BL ~ 5800/-

Corsair ValueRAM 4GB ~ 1250/-

nice one buddy,H67 mobo wont affect much so savings is up first!!

@Alivehunter hmm first build(Config 1) is perfect,Go along!!

If OP wants to save money, he can get the Intel Dual Core + H67 board, I find the H61 chipset crippled.

Config A V/s Config B : which one is good?

Will be going to buy it today from chennai Market??

Any suggestion abt best dealer in chennai Market??

Config A:

Component | Make | Price Processor |AMD Phenom II X4 955 BE|5800

Motherboard |Gigabyte GA-880GM-USB3 (rev. 3.1)|4800

RAM |4 Gb Corsair(4Gx1)|1300

| Total |11900

Config B:

Config 1:

CPU : Intel i3-2100

MOBO:Gigabyte H61M-D2-B3

RAM : 4 Gb Corsair

the corei3 2100 is a better processor for single-threaded apps and consumes a lot less power than the 955be.

and as alpha suggested.. go for the h67 board as it comes with all the latest features like sata3/usb3!

last but not the least.. get a decent smps to ensure than ur pc's components are safe.

Any other disadvantages of H61 other than Sata3 (irrelevant without SSD) and USB3?

For a budget config, I can't figure out why would someone like to spend 3k extra on the motherboard. Please elaborate.

And how come Intel motherboards are being suggested nowadays, they used to be the worst.

EDIT: Oh we have a thread for that already

OT: From where did you get this quote?

On-topic:

i3 2100 with H61 mobo is a better option if you plan to get a discrete GPU later.

http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/intel_core_i3_2120/10.htm

But, incase you plan to stick to the IGP, then the AMD's IGP will easily beat the intel's poor HD2000 onboard.

http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/intel_core_i3_2120/12.htm

IMO, the Intel i3 2100 is a better choice as it would make a discrete GPU affordable. (Initial difference of Rs. 2k + Electricity savings)

Edit/Extra: More on how i3 2100 is way better than x4 955

Beating those useless extra cores everwhere

Get the Intel set-up, save up for the graphics card and get it as soon as possible.

As Lolcat Sir, put it aptly the Intel RIG is more frugal [power efficient], faster [performs good with Hyper Threading beating an AMD quad in most lightly threaded applications, though this will reverse if an actual heavy multi-threaded task crops up].

Get the Intel DH67-BL ~ 5800/-, best board for most Intel processors and mainstream users who are not interested in over-clocking, with native support for USB 3.0 and SATA III.
