AMD 4000+(2.1g), 2GB & XFX 8500GT 512MB + VG1930wm.
For the above config, what DX9.0c titles can i think of playing smoothly @ resolutions 800 x 600 (i'm ok with this resolution) with medium settings (if not high).
I am able to play Half life 2 Episode one in widescreen mode (1440 x 900) without any problems @ default settings and this one looks stunning. another best part of this games video settings is that it actually allows you to play the game in widescreen (16:9 & 16:10 ratio).
My interests are mostly FPS and to some extent racing games. RTS games like Homeworld can also be intresting.
other games that i am thinking of is Doom3, Quake4, Half Life 2, Half Life 2: Episode two & NFS Carbon.
The quality of games has improved tremendously after the introduction of Doom3 and improvements in hardware. i'm saying so coz i have not been able to play these games on my old system and havent played much since 3 yrs.

you can try COD2, NFS MW, maybe far cry too
