Suggest energy efficient ac !!!

Well I am looking for a 1-1.5 ton ac ... I have a ~11 year old ogeneral window ac working awesome but now it makes a lot of noise like some big ass generator is powering it :p and I think its sucking too much power ... so please suggest a nice energy efficient ac .... :D ...

Unless your AC runs a LOT, I doubt that you would recover the cost of a new AC

LG and Samsung do suck but Whirlpool does not. They are very well made for the asking price. Infact some of the carriers are far worse in build quality compared to the whirlpools.
 
i use 1.5t ace cut out model hitachi ac (five star rated) . it uses only 0.7 unit /hour at 28 degree temp. setting. at 26 degree temp. setting it used 0.9 unit/hour, tested it i am dam sure.
 
^now that is something i like ... the thing is i have a 11 year old ac ... so I think a new 3 star will also be at least three times as efficient as my old one :D ?
