Just bought a Nokia Lumia 520 from Amazon on Thursday and it got delivered today.

Need a micro SIM cutter. These seem to be available for Rs.100 on eBay. Should I buy it from eBay or should I look for it in the local electronics market?

And any pointers to choosing a good flip cover for this phone and an approximate price would be nice.

P.S - This thread(http://www.techenclave.com/community/threads/nokia-lumia-520-discussion-thread.147513/) needs to be reopened. Otherwise too many people will create multiple threads searching for accessories for the Lumia 520. Due to the Amazon offer, a lot of people have bought it. The guy who came to deliver it said that he delivered 8 more pieces of the L520 today. That means a single guy delivered 8+3=11 Lumia 520's today(3 of us friends had bought it together).

Just a friendly suggestions don't press front glass to much while opening back cover..
And for sim cutter, go and buy from local mobile repair store for 50 rs..

No worries with that. Could open the back cover without even looking at the manual :P
I have quite a bit of practice with my LG Optimus One.

Have you ever used your micro-SIM with an adapter and tried to put it in a phone which takes in a normal sized SIM?
How much do these adapters cost? Rs.30 or even lower?

There is no need for separate adapter, just cut your normal sim into micro sim and put remaining sim boarder to safe place, and whenever you want to use micro sim as a normal sim just put micro sim in that remaining boarder from first cut, and simple the so called adapter come free in my area with sim cutter..

is there any advantage to buying sim cutter ? why not get new sim from operator ? i think its free

It's come handy when u change sim every other day, And save trouble from going to care center..

Got the SIM cutter for Rs.150. Nobody was willing to sell it for less than that. Got it from the local electronics market.
Got a Flip cover for Rs.170 (Lumia N520 is written on the cover).
Bought a screen guard for RS.100 and got it applied from the store itself.

Now waiting for my dad to get back home so that I can gift him the phone :-)

You should have asked the place you got the phone from to cut the SIM for free. Else, Croma will do it for free - just ask politely ;)

Else, just ask your neighboring shop to do it - I got mine done for free.[DOUBLEPOST=1383588950][/DOUBLEPOST]

I did read it later. Anyways, its a good thing to have a SIM cutter, since you can cut SIMs at anytime without relying on anyone else. Also, the adapters are not exactly useless, but I too prefer keep the remaining part rather than using a adapter.

Your phone service provider also cuts sim for free, sim adapter is useless , it does not fit properly , part left after cutting the old sim attached back to make normal sim works best .
I have a screenguard for sale if you are interested http://www.techenclave.com/communit...uard-nokia-lumia-520-screen-protector.153894/
Thanks for the offer. Had checked out your FS thread sometime ago. Since I am not too comfortable with applying the screenguard myself, I bought a screenguard and asked the shopkeeper to apply it for me.

@hotshot05 congrats on your new purchase...btw what was the amazon offer that you were talking about?
The price of the Lumia 520 was reduced by sellers who were selling on the Amazon.in website.
A friend of mine got it for 7k. I bought it for 7.4k. No coupons were used for the purchase. If I had an Axis bank debit/credit card, could have had got a 10% discount over and above this price.
