Suggest games for a gaming event

hi guys,

we are organising a gaming event in our college and being the head of the committee, i request you guys for suggestion of a few games....

we have shortlisted the following games

1. quake 3/cscz/ut 2k4
2. fifa 2k5/2k6
3. nfs ug2
4.aoe/rise of nations

please suggest the games u would have chose if u were asked to play...

help urgent guys....:)
 
guys plz suggest the games which are familiar with everyone..... nd also take into consideration the computers in the colleges!!!!!!!
 
FPS:
Quake 3, Counter Strike Condition Zero or CS 1.5, Half - Life Death Match Classic(The old Half-Life with the Death Match Classic Mod), Serious Sam (First or Second Encounter) - Fragmatch
Sports:
Fifa 2004 (Dont know how old ur college comps are...so, to be safe), NFS UG (If it works)

Strategy:

I would recommend not keeping them as these games take a large amount of time to finish.
 
p4 2.4 ghz 256 mb ram......

trying toget gpu's from somewhere.....

so which fps????? quake or cs or ut.....

nd have to keep one strategy game.....

Keep Quake3 and cs then. they run on just about any system. For fps, keep age2 conquerors as it doesnt require a gpu. maybe an old version of nfs (porsche unleashed?) would be the best for those machines.
 
This is what we did in our coll:
1) Q3 TDM .... 15 min match
2) CSCZ.... 4 rounds per game...1 tie breaker allowed (2 games s T's and two as CT's for each team)
3) AOE2... 3on3

UG2 (but this was on a PS2)
NFSMW sprint times (This was on my rig)

the first three games will run flawlessly on the comps of ur coll.

Next month we r holding it again...and this time..it will be a chaotic Free for all Deathmatch in Q3 on the QDM17 map with only a railgun and a gmod

It runs Q3a, CS, UT2k4, UG2.

Not tried Fifa...but i am sure it will run too.

If you have to select one between Q3 and CS and UT...
It totally depends if u want to have a deathmatch or if you want to have a team play competetion.

If its deathmatch, there is no comparision to Q3.
If it is onslaught or CTF or Team Deathmatch or Assault or Bombing Run, UT is the way to go.
If it is Team play you are looking for then CS:CZ is the best.

As for sports, i would suggest keeping a racing game like NFS UG2. (Which should run pretty well @ 800*600 with medium settings on LAN) Though, this game will lag a bit on LAN.
 
If it is possible, i would suggest a second FPS instead of AOE or RON etc.

Though if it is a compulsion, i think AOE is more suitable.... (Dont take my word for it...i hate strategy games :bleh: ) This is considering what some of my friends like to play on LAN in their college fests.
 
^^ cant help it XT..but those bluddy AOE players are everywhere:@...allmy friends are..tho i still cant figure ou whats the fuss about that game
 
I suggest quake 3 , condition zero and call of duty 1 for the fps considering the college comps

for sports : fifa 2004 or better madden 2004 !!

for stratergy : world of warcraft wont run on ur comp so warcraft 3 region of chaos or rise of nations !

for racing : nfs underground as U2 wont run on those comps !!!

Also try arranging some ps2's or xboxes coz i think they r the best bet in these competetions , you dont have to worry about the game rquirements and upto 6 players can play on a single system ! seriously dude try sports and racing games on the consoles !!I am some of ur friends must be having consoles !!
