Please suggest a rig for my friend. He needs it for BF3 and for Rage as and when they come out...

Looking for the best possible gaming machine. I hope we can squeeze in the smallest SSD......but lets see.

He doesn't mind an AMD based rig completely either if it is more VFM, and what news on the BullDozer, should he wait till then? How much longer guys...?

GPU, anything that he can run games on FullHD.

I will also try to look up the config and will post in the mean time its open for you guys to suggest.

1. Oh well, we can be a bit more conscious on the budget, and change the proccy and mobo as he don't really need any OC....

2. We can also take away the Speakers as he will use the HDMI Audio via his HDTV....

3. No need of CDr...Depends on where we reach with the budget...

4. Also cooling can remain at stock as non OC proccy...

If you're gonna run BF3, I would suggest getting a 560 Ti. Preferably 560 Ti HAWK which can be overclocked better. Costs a bit less than a 6950 too.

Based on the recommended specs, the game is better optimized for nVidia cards.

I would advise going for a quad core CPU though. Something like i5 2400 + H67 mobo + no CPU cooler should save you around 5-6k.

If you don't have a decent case, I suggest getting a Storm Enforcer or something similar. And although 4 gigs of RAM should be enough, I would bump it to 8 gigs if I were you.

HOw about the following:

Components Description Price (INR)

Processor Intel Core i5 2400 9500

Motherboard ASUS P8H67 M LE 6500

RAM Gskil RipJawsX F3-12800CL9D-4GBXL 1600MHz 1500

GPU 560Ti 13500

PSU SeaSonic S12II 520W 3500

Case CM Silencio 550 6500

Total ~ 41K

He doesnt need the following:

Monitor: as he will be using a 32 inch LED TV.

HDD: He already has a Sata 250Gb for now which is fine.

ODD: I think I have only used this to install windows else a waste IMO, so no need.

Speakers: Again using the TV's speakers.

Input Devices: That he will choose once the system is up :)

Anyway to better the above config with crossing the budget of 40K...?

Note: Only for Gaming!!

^^ not for me for a friend who just wants it to play BF3.

So any other suggestions to increase FPS??

Waiting for your comments experts....He still has time before the game comes out :)

Any reason for selecting CM Silencio 550.In my opinion it is not VFM case and Gpu may not get enough ventilation.

At that price range many other cases are available.

Seasonic s12ii 520w is a good option but to give more headspace get corsair vx550w-4.5k also sapphire toxic hd 6950-15.5k is the best option for you.

if your friend really has above 6k budget for cabinet then i would like to suggest Corsair Carbide 400R which is a great case... Would be good for future upgrades too... Or if he doesn't want to spend that much on the cabinet then tell him to buy i5 2500k + Asus P8Z68 M Pro or MSI P67A GD55 ~ 8.9k/ 9.5k + CM Hyper 212 Plus ~ 1.9k + NZXT Gamma ~ 2.1k + Seasonic S12II 520w ~ 3.5k

He is obsessed with that cabbie. I am sorry we can't change that.

He is not gonna Overclock anything, Guys he is not a techie guy, he just wants to play games

...He just wants a config that can do just that for him, no tinkering no tweaking nothing of that sort.
