PC Peripherals Suggest good config.

Dear Friends,

Please suggest me decent computer config (assembled ) Plan to shop by jan end
Mainly using it for multimedia & internet. Gaming last option. Please add comments to each items.

1. Processor Pentium or AMD (What is single core & dual core? which one to go?)
2. Motherboard ( any upgrade available later?)
3. Hard disk (160gb prefered)
4. DVD combo (sony or lite prefered)
5. Fdd ( whether to buy or not coz i have flash memory pen with me)
6. USB port (4-8) (whichever latest )
7. TV Tuner (any good one with lot of features???)
8. Monitor (prefer 17" crt )
9. Cabinet (how is Iball ATX???? or anything else)
10. RAM (No idea. need more memory 1gb)
11. Keyboard & Mouse
12. Modem
13. Speaker (looking for creative model)
14. I have digital camera & my friend suggested to have firewire (should i include this & good one available?)
15. Later on i need decent graphic card. pci slots ????
16. Webcamera (which one is best to capture pic)
17. Headphones

Any more comments please add.

firewire is a must for digicams. not neede for a camera per se. There's a flashy webcam at fabmall.com. Check it out. Get an FDD. Belive it or not, u still need em for! As for the proccy, AMD rulez!!
 
Ok, here it goes.

3. Hard disk (160gb prefered) - Seagate/Samsung 250GB SATA

4. DVD combo (sony or lite prefered) - Sony/Samsung CD-RW/DVD-ROM

5. Fdd ( whether to buy or not coz i have flash memory pen with me) - Upto you depending on budget.

6. USB port (4-8) (whichever latest ) - Comes in the mobo :S

7. TV Tuner (any good one with lot of features???) - Not Sure, ask around in lammy..

8. Monitor (prefer 17" crt ) - LG Flatron 17" CRT

9. Cabinet (how is Iball ATX???? or anything else) - 800 Bux, cheap cabbie, with 350W Power Supply**<< Important!)

10. RAM (No idea. need more memory 1gb) 1GB Transcend or Hynix, doesnt matter if your not overclocking.

11. Keyboard & Mouse - Keyboad and mouse set, look around in lamington..

12. Modem - Eh? Why? Not buying Cable net? :S.

13. Speaker (looking for creative model) - Altec Lansing ATP3

14. I have digital camera & my friend suggested to have firewire (should i include this & good one available?) - no idea what you mean..

17. Headphones - Cheap or Expensive? IBall's, Altec Lansings are available from 500 - 1500 bux... check em out..
