I have following configuration in mind

1.Good processor either T8100 or new P series
2.GPU 256MB or more
3.HDD 250GB or more
4.Screen size 13.3 or 14.1 not more.
5.Price < 70K

Brand :HP,Dell or Sony

Suggest suitable laptop with availability in market and its number

HP DV1120 - ~ 70K

HP DV5 1015 - P7350/ 512MB GPU/ 250GB ~ 60K

Sony Vaio CS 17 - P8400/ 250GB ~ 57K

+1 for the DV5-1015TX - 64K

[EDIT]Didn't see the 14.1" restriction. So guess this is out.

Wouldn't recommend any lappy with the Nvidia 8400M or 8600M GPU (because of the high failure rates with these).[/EDIT]

Thats been fixed. All affected parts are out of channels as per a source :)

And NOT the fan fix, the root cause has been fixed :)

how about hp dv4 1133 tx?

Do hp laptop have heating problem??

Also which is good laptop in 14.1 screen size?

You mean they have changed the soldering component etc.? (IIRC there issue was due to something with that).
Is there any way we can tell if we have got a fixed GPU or an older one?

I would like to know that as well! As I am also in a fix... I am all for xps1330... but the issue is stopping me from going ahead

Yes, thats pretty much it. Since its not a silicon change, AFAIK, there no GPU model number change tho. However, all parts have pretty much been recalled from vendors. Simple reason: the vendors like Dell, HP charge Nvidia with cost of replacement AND warranty as well including all charges they incur on service/manpower etc etc. So in their best interest to recall asap n thats been done. Source: Someone I kno who works for a green company :p
