Suggest me a Game Thread

A new PS3 owner. Don't really know what to play and what not to. Been a casual Gamer my entire life but whatever I played, played with my full interest.

Anyways, reason behind opening this thread is to ask you guys what should I buy. Since PS3 games cost a lot. I am still exploring those clubs and things. but not everyone would like to do it.

I see a lot of people asking the same question again and again. I searched TE btw before posting.

So the rule is you tell us your taste and past games you liked. Basis that people suggest what you would like.

So let me Start and make a format request format.


Currently Playing : God of War III
Console/PC : PS3
Genre I like: Adventure, Puzzle

Add more to the format if you like.

Mods: Sorry if a thread like this already exists. But I did search. Honestly :D

Uncharted 1 and 2 are great, so is Red dead redemption and GTA IV (and EFLC). Also i read heavy rain was supposed to be good :P
 
MGS4 is fun but video length is greater than gameplay length, which makes it a little akward. But the gameplay is awesome nevertheless.

Uncharted 2 is a must play for adventure fans.

For me gaming started at 30 and thanks to TE. Came to know a lot good things about games, consoles, PC hardware etc. Bought PS3 last year too and recently completed COD Ghosts.

Query - My nephews are here for vacation, we tried several games but as they are just 11-12 years I found they like 2 player (one team games). Most of times they play the WWE2k15, and Mortal combat 9.

Can anyone tell similar games which are simple and can be played as a team or one against other ?

Also any similar game to counter strike, select map, join as one team or opponent, win and repeat ?

For kids and adults both, there are few games which i have seen people enjoy.. regardless of their age

1) Rayman Origins and Rayman Legends.
2) Sonic All Star Racing and Sonic All Star Racing Transformed (highly recommended via peers)

I would avoid getting kids the wrestling based games due to age bracket.. (we merrily skip the age group rating on the game box)

But for the sake of recommendation-
WWE 2k14 and WWE 2K15 been highly recommended.

Scott Pilgrim V/S The World (highly recommended)
Army of Two series (Please check the ESRB rating though)
Castle Crashers
Little Big Planet
Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault
Ratchet & Clank: All 4 one
Any Lego title (Batman, Lego Movie, LOTR etc)
Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light

I echo Spacey's opinion on the violent video games for that age bracket, especially games like Mortal Kombat which has some insane level of gory detail for their fatalities. Please do consider these factors prior to letting them loose on the PS3. I know teenagers these days are in a different league, but it would be best if we try to keep some boundaries till they are old enough to process this stuff. Just a friendly advice.

It's a neat little website which will provide you a vast array of titles which are co-op centric and even filter out for LAN, Couch and online co-op for various platforms.

MK is NOT for people below 18. Anyways instead try super street fighter IV, Little big planet, playstation all star battle royale & those which others have put.

Thanks guys. Mk is out of ps3, even I felt it bad.

The type of heat is on nowdays in Pune, I don't allow the kids to play outside in peak hours. Instead they play wwe.

I will look out for games suggested.

Any pointers from where I can buy Scott Pilgrim V/S The World game ?

Seached torrent sires and all leading online retailers but haven`t found anywhere. Need for nephews this diwali.

After summer vacation to be continued will be Rayman legends and Little big planet.
