Are you a gamer? If yes, don't go with the E4xxx series of chips w/2MB cache. Spend more and get E6750 (4MB cache) which right now is a GREAT VFM chip. This and the graphics card are the heart of the PC so try not to skimp on this. Pair the chip with a 1333MHz mobo, preferably one with future 45nm support. Maybe others here can shed light on this.

Cabinet you could go for CM Elite 330 (2.8k) or CM Centurion 5 or 5xx series (3.8k to 4.5k). Chieftec BH/BX/GX series (3.2k to 4.5k). The latter is good if you need room or want to install a great big heatsink.

PSU, what else can I say... the CM Extreme Power 600W (3.5k). Can handle any single card config.

PS - This is Mumbai/Pune pricing but on the whole it tends to work out equally.

look around for some threads , jesal - MY PC FOR BRO or something . checkt he pc buying guide in the sticky. will help u. for prices , CALL SMC :-) .

u wont find the xfx here in delhi that easily in the 1st case

prccy wud be e4400(is stepping a issue?)
mobo...something stable and reliable...PLZZ SUGGEST
kingston 1 gb ddr2 667mhz RAM(shud i go for corsair or transcend?)
SEAGATE SATA2 hdd 250 gigs.
ASUS DVD RW
im left with about 3-3.5k for cabby and psu...please sugest somethin clean and sleek...(zebby or CM?)
ill b mostly using it for casual gaming...and movies n music...so i dont plan to overclock....
PLZZ...help me out guys...

Intel E4400 - 5k

XFX 650i Mobo - 5.5k

1 GB Kingston/Transcend/Corsair - 1.7~1.9k (Go for the cheapest of the three)

250 GB Seagate Barracuda SATA2 - 2.9k

DVD - LG H42N - 1.4k

PSU - CM Extreme Power 600W - 3.3k (Get it from SMC in Nehru Place) or Power Safe 500W for 2.5k (This would probably be difficult to find in Delhi). I would suggest you stick with the first and not compromise on this.

Viewsonic VG1930WM 19" LCD - 10.5k

You have to spend about a 1000 bucks more for a decent cabinet of your liking. look in Zebronics for that. Prices are roughly given and the actual current prices at Nehru Place may be a bit lower or higher than those I have given.

Also if you wait till tomorrow, you will get some more replies. Today is a Sunday and not every person likes to spend his weekend before a computer. :hap5:

Also you can look for Prices on this site.

TheITWares - Buy Computer Hardware , PC Components , Laptop Computers - One Stop for all Gizmos!!

these are Mumbai prices, but Delhi prices wouldn't be that different.

XFX 650i Mobo - 5.5k
CM Extreme Power 600W
wud those be of any benefit..as i dont plan to overclock at all...just for speeding few milliseconds..and voiding warranty..
wudnt a powersafe 400w be enugh or wt abt my old zebronics 400w plus?

no steppin not such an issue, its more of luck but since u dont want to OC then forget the steppings any ways

A decent PSU is always a good investment. Cheap PSU's tend to damage hardware in the long run. Most of the sub 1k PSU's that come with the cabinets are overrated.

A PSU rated 400W or 500W would be actually a 250W only. There are several version of the Zebronics 400W. The ones which come bundled with Cabinets are usually of the cheap variety. If you are not going to get a GPU costing more than 5k, then these PSU's should be able to run them without stability issues. For anything higher, I would suggest that you go in for a good PSU.

But remember you always have the risk with a cheapo PSU. It may run fine for you or it may blow after an year and probably taking with it some of your hardware.

As for Mobo, there are cheaper Micro ATX boards, but Normally I would avoid them because of the cramped nature and limited expandability. The cramping of components can also cause ventilation issues. Also you wouldnt for example want to change your motherboard because the TV Tuner you bought some time in the future would not install on this motherboard.

The XFX 650i is a full ATX board with good expandability and still priced very decently. But if you want to save cash, you may want to look at some of the Intel 946 Chipset based motherboards.

thanx for those worthy suggestions..bros:clap:
ok i ill go for the xfx 650i ultra..thts final coz i dnt wna save a 1500 bucks buying some 2nd grade stuff..:D
as for ur saying abt PSU...well..i agree...that zebronics one came bundled with my cabby...and mayb it wud SUCK!
but i wont b able to spare..3500 for a 600w cooler master...rather i feel i dont need it...coz no overclock and a graphic card to the most will be a 7600 gt...also idont have a UPS backup to support 600w power...so wt u think ....
POWERSAFE 400W or COOLER MASTER 380 W EXTREME POWER ONE?
and please suggest any good sleek cabby..with gud ventilation and a led fan mayb.. ahemm...:)

yup take that cooler master 380 one , else look at a aimgo 550w at 1.75 k , its pretty decent :-)
so the CM wud b better u think....u confused me again..
hows this aimgo 550w compared to CM
also if ever..im tempted to overclock a bit in future...with my xfx 650i wud that cooler master 380w be enough?
e4300 or e4400 ..a better overclocker?
sorry...i seem to be askin too many questions..but i know u guys love helping...:ohyeah:

i got the amigo , am at 3 GHZ stable without any problems. :-) i have even tried runnin 2 8500gt on it and it worked .

ok..so ive finalised on rest of the things...
is amigo 550w(as 200mph says) that reliable for my rig or a 380 cooler master wud b fine..even if i overclock...a bit
and wht abt processor...is e4300 better or e4400..do they offer same overclocking capability.
AND...plzzz suggest a good sleek cabinet....with some nice led fans..
within 1.5k
