PC Peripherals Suggest me a UPS

Hello,
I'm looking out for a PSU here since the one I've form my old computer doesn't even allow me o switch off my computer when there's a power out in idle state. Anyway here are the specs for my computer

Corsair 650 PSU
8GB RAM
4870 ATI
15" CRT
5.1 Creative
Asus P5Q
Q6600

Some of the components are occasionally OC'd while gaming. This needs to be considered too. I would want a minimum of 5 minutes back-up time with full load. Thanks in advance.

I am using APC and would highly recommend it. Currently using 650 VA one and no issues so far (battery lasts for 1.5-2yrs) APC BACK-UPS ES 650VA 230V INDIA

I guess 650 VA should fit your needs.. it costs around 3K with 2 years warranty (please check though)

I purchased the 1000VA APC UPS couple of weeks ago, set me back by 6.5k in Mumbai. I think it's a good choice for your rig.

Where did you purchase it from any references? Do these guy ship if needed? I'm sure this thing would be darn heavy!

I purchased from Vashi. If you're in Mumbai, you can pick up from any shop in Lamington road etc. This weighs about 11kg, so its best to avoid shipping if you can.

another good option is Powercom 1KVA UPS. Excellent performance and No humming noise with Corsair PSUs.
Also cheaper than APC.
I'm using one since 3-4 years

Well APC BACK UPS are for sine wave , and I have read few cases of PSU with Active PFC going kaput when operated on non-sine wave UPS ...

I'am also in same dilemma , I have Corsair vx550 and booked APC BACK RS1000VA UPS , but have not taken the delivery yet because of these issues I read on the net
