suggest me chart/graph software for daily use

Some years ago i had used a very good chart/graph software it was free but I cant remember the name.

Can someone suggest me few good charting software for daily use, it should have multiple chart facility & different templates of charts.

Should be easy to use.
 
Though i don't know how to use excel can some one point me to a basic tutorial doing the following.

daily money received i want weekly/monthly yearly chart

daily expanses weekly/monthly yearly chart

Does excel allow customizing charts with color & patterns?

Are there any ready made templates where year wise monthly dates are already input I just add expanses & it shows me the weekly graph?
 
Excel is more than enough for your need. Check these sites for charting tips on excel. The first two sites are run by Microsoft MVPs, who are experts in Excel, the third is probably the largest site related to Excel. Excel 2007 is better for charting than 2003, as the Charting Engine is new in '07. Lots of colors and features make is really easy to use '07

Thanks to all,

as of now I have settled for google docs spreadsheets (similar to excel), since its online its more useful for me to add to my work flow.

The daily expanse was just an example I do need charts for multiple kind of data, such as time spent on the project monthly, number of hours logged on the job etc etc, it could be anything where I need statical data chart.
