My Rig is :
AMD X2 3800+
1 GB DDR2 Ram
asus M2NPV-MX motherboard
400W VIP GOLDEN SMPS
I want to buy which is best that suits the system Please suggest me .
Will this cards will work on my motherboard? If Yes Then shd i buy new SMPS if yes then suggest me one.

and which manufacture should i go for ATI/SAPHHIRE/MSI

My budget is low

my budget is 10k max and might buy the gfx card from US :)

@Revolution is HD 5670 better than the 4770 HD i need to buy new SMPS 500Watts for that right ?

@insatcool HD5670 doesnt require a PCI-e power connector from PSU. It draws power from the PCI-E slot itself. I belive this card should be more than enough for you as with higher end GPU your processor will become bottleneck. HD 5770 though a good card (i m got one recently) might be an overkill for ur conf. Let the other gurus on forum shed some light on this. :)

10k ~ $230

If your purchasing in the US - chuck all the 4xxx and 5xxx series Ideas - get yourself a Sapphire Radeon 6850 + Corsair VX550 - Totally costs about 250 USD (Newegg) - Prices will come down In a while , I expect - then you can decide ...

Also wait for a bit - let every one publish their reviews - read them up and then decide - or else its more of a premature option to just jump upon the barts and get one ...

:cool2:

With that CPU anything over a 5670 is hugely overkill. It can't even fully utlilize a 5670 for that matter. However, no point going below a 5670 as you will get some performance returns up to this point.

Beyond a 5750/5770 the performance should be more or less constant, at least in terms of real world smoothness and minimum FPS, consistency etc.

I say that from experience because I have experienced 1900xtx with a single core CPU and experienced the difference in going to a Core 2 Duo. Again, I also noticed the difference from going from a Core 2 Duo to a Core 2 Quad and it was substantial in terms of real world smoothness, however not as much in terms of just FPS.

What is the good choice for my Dual core E5300 processor (2GB ddr2 800mhz ram,Zebronics Bijli cabinet with default power supply, samsung 20" monitor) also I am willing to use this GPU to play games in LCD TV (I am planning to purchase around 40").Does it make sense to use Ati 6850 with my current processor.

There is no reply does this mean site members don't have that much of knowledge or the question is a stupid .Anyway I am adding more information related to my question. As per my understanding There is no big difference between full Hd (1920x 1080) and Hd ready (1280x720) while considering Movie but I don't know about gaming because so far I have used only on board graphics to play games (Age of empire,NFS most wanted,Fita 08,few games of Prince of persia ...) more than that my monitor (samsung 2033) only support maximum of 1600 x 900 resolution so I guess mid range graphics card (5670) is more than enough for this monitor. In near future I have decided to buy 40" LCD TV and Home theater (not for gaming only it will be multipurpose like movie, music, game most probably AVR will be Onkyo TX-SR608, speaker I still searching).

My doubt is whether I should go for high end graphics card like 6850,460 for using my htpc+40 "LCD TV for gaming or using 5670 with 1280x720 will give satisfactory result for gaming. What is the minimum satisfactory frame rate for games.

@rajuwaste
please start a new thread as your requirement is a lot different than the TS. You will also get better replies.

ATI 6850 will be overkill for your Dual Core E5300 and most importantly your default power supply. If you are going to buy an HTPC soon, buy the GPU as per the HTPC configuration and not your current config.

I know PSU is a must while considering 6850 but my query is not related to psu I want to clarify best combination (GPU) for my current processor for atleast two years usage after that I will build a dream system which can handle my LCD TV's full potential.Thank you for your suggestion I am going to open new thread.

Don't buy stuff from US when you're budget stands as a restriction. Better buy from India no warranty headaches .
