Please suggest me a motherboard for intel i7 Processor LGA1155.

Must have feature:

  • Crossfire and SLI dual support
  • STAT-3 and USB-3
  • On-board VGA till a Graphics card is bought.
Budget: 6k to 8K

You can also PM me if you are selling one.

Please suggest me a motherboard for intel i7 Processor.

Which Intel Core i7? LGA1155 socket OR LGA1366 socket?

And motherboards that support SLi are sold in excess of ~9000/- INR so you might like to step-up the budget.

Finally, the iGP is highly dependent on which socket Core i7 you are looking for.

Also, are you over-clocking the CPU OT not?

Within your budget you can go for ASUS ASUS P8H77-M-8.5k,It has everything you need.I hope you're getting a Non K i7 1155 Proccy,Otherwise it'll be a waste of the K lined processor.

Thanks for the suggestion.
Another alternative please, just in case, if the motherboard is not available in the market.

Does the 'K' matters if I don't OC ?

Is it Non-K OR K,Still go with ASUS ASUS P8H77-M-8.5k OR Asus P8H77 M-PRO-10k it has Crossfire support,USB 3.0 and Sata 6GBPS support.So you're good to go for it.It won't matter since you're not Ocing,It doesn't matter.Hope this helps.:)

Yes it matters, do not waste money on the -k marked processor if you are not over-clocking.

Also, at that price point I suggest that you avoid mATX boards for a dual-GPU setup. The full ATX layout will allow more space to accommodate and place huge graphics cards without blocking other connectors.

My suggestions for this build will be --
  • GIGABYTE-H77-D3H ~7500/-
  • ASUS P8H77-V ~9500/-
Please note that these may-not support SLi setups, so research before purchase. Both motherboards sport USB 3.0, SATA III ports and CrossFireX support. Cheerio!

This is a noob question but can I run a system based on the ASUS P8Z77 -M PRO motherboard and i5 2500 without a graphics card? I will be buying this MB for a future upgrade to a Ivybridge K processor.

Thanks a lot, ALPHA17. My ASUS P8H67 EVO had conked off and Rashi finally agreed to grant me a replacement after a wait of 40 days. Since they don't have EVO in stock they offered me to choose from the currently available models.

My only problem is the lack of a FireWire port in the new MB. Will have to look for a suitable accessory. Any idea what can be done? Also please tell me what additional stuff needs to be purchased to use all the USB ports (both 2.0 and 3.0) available in the middle of the board. I have a CM 430 Elite cabinet.

It is a news on cards that some more models of ASUS i7 based motherboards are being launched soon for indian market, but we will have to have little patience for that... let us see..
