Has anyone tried using those power banks? There are many brands, Callmate, Piny, Ambrane, Maxx, Eveready, Nexttech, iBall, Portonics etc etc. Has anyone here used them here? What's your experience?

I need one and it should have minimum 5v 1A. More amps, better. More USB outs, better.

Thank you!

This is a curve ball from left field.

Nokia play 360 bluetooth speaker. Speaker and power bank in one. Not as portable as a powerbank though.

When it comes to high power lithium polymer batteries, don't take risk with Chinese stuff.
Sony lithium polymers would be a safe choice. So are power banks from Cooler master, but they use lithium ion mostly.

I would recommend Anker Astro2 8400mah. I got it for ~2300 on ebay

4.6/5 on Amazon - http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0067UPRQ4/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1399220392&sr=8-1&pi=SY200_QL40

Good quality product, with decent capacity. I am able to recharge my Nexus 5 (2300mah) 3 times on a full charge.

Anker has more models. You'll find them on eBay and flipkart by the same seller/distributor. Yugda something..

Additional info:
My N5 lasts about 40 hours on each cycle, that's almost 2 days straight with medium-light usage (3.5 - 4 hours screen on time).

^ I got the ambrane power bank. Quite good. Gave me 2 full recharges and one 20% recharge of my Tab2 p3100. I think I paid 1.6+ for it about a month ago.

I don't understand this Li Po / Li Ion things but i guess the power bank i have is definitely Li Ion since it has lost its ability to hold charge and even immediately after charging the power bank and using it to charge devices (to test it), I found that it was not able to charge my iPhone fully from 10% or so.
The one i have is rated t 7200 mAh but i feel it has probably 1100 mAh or so now. I bought mine in 2011 december.
So yes buy the battery technology which will last longer.

Li(thium)Po(lymer) is a more malleable form of Li-ion. Battery size can be anything you want can be shaped to fit anything. Tech wise they are one and the same.

Thing to remember with this tech is not to charge beyond 90%, avoid deep discharges and if storing for some time make sure it has at least 40% charge. It does not like to be completely discharged and left in that state. Otherwise you have to recondition it later. For that you need specialist equipment. The battery isn't dead, just needs to be revived. Slow charging is less stressful than fast charging.
