Guyz,
Pls suggest me which one to buy - PS3 Slim or Super Slim ?
Do not suggest me to go for PS4 because its expensive and my already have no of PS3 games.

The super slim looks a bit shoddy in construction and has a sliding cover for the disc compartment, the lens is exposed which attracts dust and is prone to damage. Whereas the older slims have a slot-loading mechanism which prevents the entry of dust and the lens is completely protected. The super slim has a glossy plastic design which attracts finger prints whereas the slims have a matte design.

The super slims available here (PAL regions) have the 12GB flash memory onboard and not the hard drive although they are upgradeable. If you can find the 160/320 GB slims, get one of those.

It is quite unfortunate when a member posts like this:

Then why didn't you give a link to that sticky? Instead of posting a one word response, this would've made a lot more sense.

It doesn't matter. His query was genuine - if you can help, please do so.

If possible get the slim one. It's the best one imho.

Design is better too.

Plus I guess there's a way to downgrade firmware on the slim consoles.

I bought the super-slim a few months ago and have 3 gripes with it mainly:

1. The top-loading disc cover feels pretty darn flimsy and cheap. When you manually close it you'll realize that you will need to do it gently each time due to chances of dislodging it somehow. For a 16k product this just isn't acceptable.

2. The 12GB flash memory just isn't enough! I have been playing quite a few titles on the PS3 lately and almost each time I have to clear space, delete past game files and then load up the next title. The waiting period for deleting each game is also around 10-12 minutes (approx.).

3. The top layer design (the non-glossy part) is also a dust magnet and you will need to keep it covered when not in use or give it a dust every now and then. I tend to keep it covered with a soft piece of cloth.

IMHO, go for the slim version if you can get hold of one or else pick the super-slim version.

Yes even i had a dilema between 12GB and 500GB. I went ahead with 500 GB as i knew that 12 GB wont suffice.

With the 500 GB version , you do get 3 free games Drake's Fortune, Infamous and Heavenly Sword. All 3 being very good games.
