Hello Mate,

Sorry if I am posting in wrong zone, actually I can't decide where to post and finally post here....

I would like to buy Room Air Cooler.

In Room I have Personal Computer with printer and writer, area of room 300sq. ft.

Can I use Air Cooler while working with PC, somewhere I hear that Air Coolers through water (humidity), is it OK for PC or it will create some problem.

I want to go for Air Cooler as I can,t afford to pay huge electricity bill of Air Conditioner.

Please suggest me right thing.

Thanks

go for symphony air cooler..
the one that costs 3 grand.. and put ice cubes in it with water..
ekdum thanda ehsaaas

But I didn't read positive review about Symphony Air Coolers and also I don't have Refrugerator (Sinus problem - in Monsoon and Winter).

What about power consumption? How many times electric bill increase?

^ ^ with an air cooler, electricity bill will not be a problem (though I cant say much) but your sinus problem will kick off. especially if you sit/sleep directly in the path of the air flow.

you may have body pain (if you sleep in path of the air flow all night) and will most definitely have clogged sinuses.

Hey mates please post your view and review as my question is still unanswered.

Is AirCooler suggest for a room where I have Computer & printer?

Which is best cooler @5000/- ?

Where do you stay pal ? Coz the location is also important in decide for a Desert Cooler ?

You can use a cooler in the same room with a computer and printer, provided it is not in the direct path of the airflow if the cooler is sprinkling water. I have been using a desert cooler in my room with PC, TV....:ohyeah: ....no issues do far. You need a cooler to beat the heat in delhi, you gotta stay alive pal....:bleh: :bleh:

Hello Shakensoul,

I am from Mumbai, 2 km away from Vasai Creek.

Do I need to closed all window and doors of room while Cooler is ON?
Do I need to Start exhaust fan while coolers is ON?
Do I need to make my room Air Tight (like Aiconditioned rooms)?

Sorry for dumb question.

A air cooler or desert cooler wont work in places near the sea, like in Mumbai or Madras. It depends on the evaporation of the water to produce the cooling effect. Thats why it increases the humidity level in the room. So if the air is already saturated with water like in coastal areas the cooling due to evaporation will be very less and there wont be any effect. You should try cold water or ice cubes to get good cooling if you live in a coastal city.

Raghu.

Sorry stick, it is pointless to use a air cooler in Mumbai..It'lll only make you feel more muggy and worse than before...

As Raghu pointed, a cooler will be effective only in the dry heat of non-coastal cities...

I have a cooler in my room... its as old as i am :)... i don't think its bad for the PC, as long as it isn't directly in front of the cooler....

My cooler cools in 45 degrees heat also... does that make it an A/C ? :D

Are you from Mumbai.

Does cooler need all window and Doors closed? LIke AC rooms:huh:

As Raghu and Superczar said stay away from an air cooler if you are from Mumbai. It just wont work.

And it will aggravate your sinus problem too. Neither will the heightened humidity do any good to all your electronic equipment.
