ya be more specific man...
anyway if you are looking for a 20k upgrade let me presume that it is excluding the monitor..
go for the intel e7400 rs5000
and a p31 motherboard gigabyte p31-s3g rs3000
go for the seagate 7200.12 500gb available for rs3000..
4gb gskill pi black rs3100 the ic deal is in hot deals and discussions here
http://www.techenclave.com/hot-deals-and-discussions/ic-g-skill-pi-black-4gb-126146.html
palit or sapphire 4670 512mb rs5000
put in somemore cash for the cabinet and generic psu..
i dunno which generic brand is good but i really dont think it matters between them..
the other options are
go for the 2gb module by guptaji here
http://www.techenclave.com/market/fs-crucial-newegg-lanfest-2gb-ballistix-129130.html
or just buy from kingston or transcend... 2gb it will be jus above 1k..
if you want to have a future upgradeable system then go for
biostar ta 790gx for abt 4500...
then buy off amd athlon x2 64 for abt 3k or get a second hand proccy from the market section here... the members give decent deals
this will give you decent performance but save up some cash and then upgrade to phenom II 720 be later...this will let u open to future amd proccys for some more time as the intel e7300 etc are end of line once i5 comes..
but i will suggest u go for a decent power supply if you can spare somemore cash...
because basically power supply and monitors are the ones that can be carried over to a new rig if within specs...
all depends on your priorities ...
if this is a build that u do not plan to upgrade anytime.. and you will build only a new one then go for the intel config and throw in a good power supply that can last over to your new rig too...
if u plan to build upon over this rig then go for the amd one and let ur options be open..
happy buying...
