Config :

Motherboard : MSI 890GXM G65
Processor : 1055T
RAM : Corsair XMS3 4*2GB
GPU : Sapphire 7850 OC
Hard Disk : 500GB + 320 GB + 1TB
Power Supply : Corsair VX 550W
DVD RW : Samsung
CPU Cooler : Hyper 212 EVO (Push n Pull config..2*120mm)
Fans : 4*80mm + 3*120mm + 2*200mm
Requirements :
1) Half an hour backup (Will connect to Inverter)
2) Backup time available feature (if possible)

Budget : 4k
If I upgrade to 750W power supply later...Will 1.1kva be sufficient?
If I reduce my requirement of backup time to 5 min (will connect it with Microtek 800VA inverter)...Do I need 1.1 KVA or less will do the job ?

APC 1.1 kv for Rs.4.9k is good to go keeping it as 660w even if you get 750w psu, the current setup wont cross 250w even after oc at full load and keeping 80% efficient ofpsu it will draw maximum 300w so it wont be a problem..

Ummm... in my experience APC UPS systems have often clashed with Corsair VX series SMPS, if OP feels he can go with multiple RMA procedures till they get a decent piece that behaves fine with his SMPS I am all in for recommending the APC BR-1.1KVA-IN ~4600/-.

If you are not game for this bajaj151 then I suggest that you go for the Microtek 800VA ~2800/-.

Please note that the APC RMA procedure is very fast, their technicians are rapid in reaching your place and replace your UPS with refurbished model(s) until and unless you are not fully satisfied with its performance.

Hope this helps, Cheers!!

I was using this setup with no problems...But after adding graphics card yesterday...PC restarts when electricity goes off...May be UPS can't able to take load now..That's why I am planning to purchase new UPS..I need just 5-10 sec backup..after that inverter will do the job...

@bajaj151 What Inverter model do you have? I am using Amaron Tribal iAce 800 and it has UPS mode where switchover time is equivalent to that of computer UPS. Your Inverter might have this feature.

Asked Microtek (via email) regarding the same.
And they replied : You can connect computer directly with Inverter but input range shall then be selected on 180-260v range....

How much do I need to spend on UPS if I want atleast 1 hr backup ?

Why do you need a backup of 1 hour, you will need atleast a APC BR110VA-IN to hold out for ~25 minutes [depending on your configuration and power draw].
