Hi,

I am planning to buy 15.6" laptop. I need laptop for watching HD movies, recording, multiple browsing, online streaming, connecting it to TV, downloading. very rare casual gaming, No hi def gaming for me.

need suggestion/ advise:

1) is second gen i3 good enough or should i go in for sec. gen i5?
2) is integrated graphic cards sufficient for my purpose or i need dedicated graphic card? Can graphic cards be added later into the system?

I would prefer to go in for Dell, but confused about its warranty transfer. It says 'To qualify for international service, you must purchase the Next Business Day On-site Response Service.' What is that? It is not mentioned on inspiron 15r or xps configuration page  If someone can please guide how to transfer warranty from USA to India so it covers hardware defects here...:S

1. 2nd Gen i5 and i7 have Turboboost, ie, it can overclock itself whenever you do some CPU demanding tasks, which is not there in i3. If your budget is 30-40k, then my suggestion would be to go for i5.

2. Integrated HD3000 gfx is more than enough for those tasks, if you are not into gaming. RAM and HDD can be added without voiding the warranty, but I don't think gfx cards cards can be added later un-authorized w/o breaking the warranty.

Again DELL has the best ASS and there is no way warranty can be transferred here unless otherwise it's global warranty.

The idea of purchasing it in USA is that prices are cheaper. My budget is lower the better, but def not more tham 30-32k.

Since my main use will be for internet browsing, streaming, chatting, watching HD movies, connecting it with TV will second gen i3 with intel graphic be also ok..
