Hi Guys,

I am going to buy a new PC on monday so i need help from you guys. Budget is 40k. I have lot of dilemmas in choosing the right product. I am in the process of learning about overclocking. So not goin to OC until I know about it fully.

My usage:

Gaming

Browsing

HTPC

Download rig, 24x7 operation

Watching HD movies

Processor:

Phenom II X2-550 BE

The reason for choosing the processor is the L3 cache memory for gaming purpose but i ll be using this PC for 24/7 downloading operations. So will this proc be good for both the purpose or else pls suggest a proc for gaming+24/7 download

Motherboard:

Have a lot of confusion in here

Gigabyte 785GMT-UD2H

ASUS M4A78STD-V-EVO

Biostar TA790GX A3+

Memory:

Corsair 2GB DDR3 1333MHZ

Hard Disk:

Seagate Barracuda 1TB or Western Digital 1TB

Cabinet:

CoolerMaster Elite 310

Monitor:

Samsung s2233w or BenQ g2220hd

GPU:

Sapphire 4870 512MB

PSU:

Corsair VX450W or Gigabyte Superb 460W

Will this PSU be enough for the above mentioned config?

Plz suggest if any change is required in this config

Thanks in advance

Processor - Phenom II X3-720 BE(The extra core will come in handy in the future)

Motherboard - Gigabyte 785GMT-UD2H-5.9k(mATX, 1*PCIE 16 slot, DDRIII upto 1666MHz,1800(O.C)MHz)

ASUS M4A78STD-V-EVO-6.5k(mATX, 1*PCIE 16 slot, DDRIII upto 1666MHz,1800(O.C)MHz)

Biostar TA790GX A3+-6.5k(ATX, 2*PCIE 16 slot, DDRIII upto 1333MHz,1600(O.C)MHz).

So choose according to your preference on which you need.

Memory:Corsair 2GB DDR3 1333MHZ - 2.8k

Hard Disk: Seagate Barracuda 7000.12 1TB ~3.9k(chepaer than than the WD greena and also better performance)

Cabinet:CoolerMaster Elite 310~1.5k

Monitor: BenQ g2220hd ~8k(VFM option)

GPU: Sapphire 4870 512MB ~8.6k

PSU:Corsair VX450W - 4k (Very good PSU. Peace of Mind)

Total:41-42k. One or two grand more than your budget but worth it.

Hi Karthi007,

thanks for ur suggestion.

Where did u get the price of corsair ram from? because in deltapage it is mentioned as 3.8k. wil there be 1k diff in price?

Is the proc u mentioned good for 24/7 download?

Check the price update threads. Many members have quoted that they have got the CM Elite for 1.5-1.6k range. Mainly the NP Delhi and the lammy thread. The G-Skill/ Corsair RAM's sell for 3k~. This info was also taken from the price update thread. Check them to get an idea of the latest prices. DDRIII Corsair and G-Skill RAM prices are quoted too high in Delta. Other prices are ok.

A full ATX board would be recommended as it will allow you to install peripherals like Sound card, or USB 3.0 card, or TV tuner without blocking the air intake of HD4870.

Also, when you will OC the HD4870, you may need a aftermarket cooler for it, which will again consume more space and hence mATX would be disaster.
