PC Peripherals suggestion for headphones+souncard

i recently planned on getting a new headphone and soundcard.

i wanted some help from you all to make it easier to decide for me :)

my budget for both soundcard and headphones is 8k.

i dont want a really high end soundcard, i just want one tht will be better than my onboard :bleh:

as for headphones, i want a good quality one.

PS. i need a headphone with mic. :)

becuz i cant get them from the usa.

i will have to buy them locally.

and abt the x-fi, isnt tht around 7k in mumbai :S :S

true. get a good headphone , and then a shitty one with a mic :eek:hyeah:

unless its for gaming , in which i guess steelsound or some gaming headset should be your piece of cake. Dont have much of an idea about gaming headsets tho :(

if you are

a) music lover, get a half decent card like the SB live 24 bit and run foobar + SSRC + ASIO or KS

Else you can buy an M audio / E-MU card

then buy some good audiophile kit like a sennheiser

b) gamer : look for a card with HW acceleration, and as many EAX modes preferaby EAX 3 or above.

then get one of them gaming headsets :)
