Is there a way for threads started by users on ignore lists to be removed when searching for new posts? And similarly, those on buddy lists to be highlighted?

Most of those on my ignore list for example, are members who tread the thinnest lines on courtesy and ethics. And since their threads follow the same pattern - is it possible to not have to see their threads at all in the 'New posts' search?
 
I am not really sure but wouldnt implementing this increase the Server load ? I mean the New Post function is used by each and every member a number of times in a day .. To add some more processing to it would lead to higher execution times ..

/Its late so i might be talking complete garbage too ..
