I am looking for a new top loading fully automatic washing machine and have shortlisted the following models-

1. Whirlpool 360 Bloomwash

2. Samsung WA11WPMEH

I am more inclined towards the Whirpool machine as it has an inbuilt heater. I am not looking forward to buying a front loading machine, given their high operational and maintenance costs.

Request your advice (reliability and wash quality) on the two shortlisted machines, or any other better machine/ make.

I'm using LG top load for around 8 yrs, service is good...

Amongst the two you have shortlisted, I would go for Whirlpool personally ...

After a lot of study, went ahead and bought the Whirlpool Bloomwash 360 washing machine (top load) around 3 weeks back. The wash quality has been very satisfying and the inbuilt heater is a very good option, especially for washing white or soiled clothes.

The brands and models which were under my consideration were Whirlpool (Bloomwash), Samsung (9kg), LG (9kg) and Panasonic (8kg). The inbuilt heater and the popularity of Whirlpool, coupled with the fact that Whirlpool's wash motor rating is the highest at 575W (nearest is Samsung & LG 9kg at 460W) made me more inclined towards Whirlpool.

Panasonic, due to the lack of even a hot water inlet was dropped outright.

I am also thinking of buying whirlpool 360 washing machine, can you say, how is the performance as you are using it for last few months?
At what price you bought it?

Wash performance has been quite good. I use Surf excel blue and with the heater on, clothes do come out really clean. One thing to note over here is that the Bloomwash cycle can be activated only if the wash load is equal to or below 5.5kg.

MRP is 28.5k and I bought it for 26k in May 2012 in my home town in West Bengal. If you purchase from Thane, I guess you'll get good deals from Reliance Digital/ Next within 24-25k. The price I have given here is for the grey colour model. The white model costs around 1k less.

Thanks for replying.
What about collar and cuffs, do they come clean or you need to rub them before putting it into washing machine.? Is the delicate wash function works as advertised?
LG also has this washing machine which has all the features of whirlpool 360 minus in built heater but has inverter direct motor? do you use in built heater regularly or normal wash results are more than enough for regular washing?
Sorry for asking so many questions.

I have not put any extremely dirty collar cuffs till now. Moderately dirty collar and hand cuffs do come out clean. Have not tried the delicate spin function till now.

We use the "mixed" program the most, given the mixed nature of wash load. For the heater, there are 3 settings- Warm (35C), Hot (45C) and Super Hot (55C). We use the heater option when white clothes make the bulk of the wash load. Warm and Hot options have yielded very good results. White-coloured vests which had taken a yellow hue after washing in our 15- year old TVS semi-automatic washing machine have re-gained their white colour after 2-washes in the Bloomwash machine, using the same detergent! Also, the clothes are impressively dried (almost ready for pressing) and do not have any wrinkles when they come out after spin cycle- a stark contrast to our semi-auto machine.
The image of our machine is attached.

One of our members has bought the LG direct drive machine you have listed above. The link to the thread is given below-

Semi-automatics are noisy because they have higher spin speeds and cannot automatically correct the imbalance. I would rate the noise during spin speed at 50 percent of my semi-automatic. Spin cycle is carried out very smoothly and there is no issue of imbalance of the wash load or the machine (atleast till now!)
