Vantec's ION 2 460W Power Supply is ideal for case modders and regular users alike. *The ION 2 is extremely quiet, utilizing a large, temperature-controlled fan to cool itself. *All of the cables have been pre-sleeved in black, cleaning up the overall look and reducing clutter significantly. *Furthermore, the ION 2 provides just enough connectors for most systems, eliminating the need to hide unused cables and connectors. *The ION 2 also features Vantec's EZ-Grip connectors, which are easier to plug in and remove than standard power connectors, and 2 SATA power connectors. *Quiet, attractive and practical, the Vantec ION 2 is perfect for virtually any system.

Guys want ur views on this PSU.

Thanks to Eazy for informing us abt Vantec Products.

A friend has ordered this PSU from APEX and should get it in the next few days - I will NOT be involved with installing the PSU as his computer is under an assemblers warranty but I will be installing MBM on this system after a few days so when I have the computer in my hands I will note the voltages and post them here. Maybe a week or so later.

Eazy how good is this compared to Zebroics PSU's...

Quady is that the final price you got... Post links to the dealer and enquire if he is willing to pass it to Noida through courier...

Ok, I'm a bit confused. I was reading PSU reviews @ madshrimps. According to their explanation of EPS12V and ATX12V specs, a single rail on the PSU should not output more than 240VA. Which means the 12V rail has a limit of 20A.
So if this Vantec has 30A on the 12V rail, how is it EPS12V and ATX12V compatible?

GUYS !!!! I just spoke to Nilesh and he says that today only the 350w PSU's arrived in the current lot - the 460w will come in next lot about 3 weeks later :(

Yup i know... I too mailed him and got back the reply... BTW what are the prices he is quoting you Eazy... Quoted me 2.5K and 3.7K for 350 and 460 respectively... I need one asap... How good are the zebbies... Similar specs... Any idea abt the pricing...

Hi Nishant,

Thank you very much for your inquiry about Vantec PSU. After Launching

Vantec PSU here in India we have received orders for this 460W PSU beyond

our expectations & at present we are running out of stock of the same. At

the moment I have only 350W, but very soon my consignment of 460W is

expected. I shell inform you once the consignment arrives. The price of 460W

is Rs.3700.00 incl. of all taxes in Mumbai & Rs.2500.00 for 350W.

Best Regards,

Nilesh Zaveri.

Ok....how much better is the vantec 460 compared to powersafe 500? Is it worth spending 1200/- extra?
I'll be having the following- 3 hdd, 1 optical, gto2 @ x850xt speeds, 4-5 case fans, cpu and ram slightly o/ced.

He quoted me 2.5 and 3.75 ...

I have not seen the 460 but I did see a 350 and let me tell you that the finish of the 350w PSU was excellent - as good as can be expected from a TOP quality world brand. I am talking about the exterior finish - along with the quality of the cables and connectors. I doubt Zebby or Powersafe come close to the Vantecs finish. I am sure it would also be a much more reliable PSU then the local brands.

The zebby's are actually skyhawk OEM.

I am no expert on PSU's so I should not have commented on a comparison between the Vantec and the Zebby/Powersafe. But what I saw of the Vantec 350 PSU it looked better finished then my Antec TP480.

Is Skyhawk a known PSU maker ? Known for quality products ?

But yaar... The availability... It sucks if it is not there...

Actually it is my fault in a way about APEX - he was not ready with the products but I forced him to give me a price list without his having any hardware in hand. He even sent an email to Eddy requesting him not not make the prices public at the moment as he was not ready with the products. Sorry for creating this chaos for the Vantec hardware :(

At least Nilesh replies to emails..... the other hardware guys dont ever reply to emails. I am trying to get a reply from SMC Delhi for the Cooler Master heat sinks and they just dont reply :@

@Eazy - i want to get my PSU after my exams get over in mid december.

by that time 3 weeks will be passed i feel and hope apex gets the 460W by that time.

The Vantec ION2 460W if priced at 3500 - 3700 will be one hot product must say.

I have finalised that i will be getting this psu only.

Also ne idea about the warranty on this PSU.
