amarbir sir,
no one is asking u to skip on bills or ur proclaimed taxes...

we are just asking u to add up taxes in the prices & then give the quotes

e.g E2160@ rs 2600 inc. of tax + shipping

quotes are always given with tax added to the price ,this principle is followed here in N.P

e.g a quote from SMC: msi 8400gs 256MB @ rs 2400
it means rs 2307.69+4% of 2307.69
i.e rs 2307.69+92.3 = rs 2400

to confirm the same i can scan bills from SMC,COMPUTER EMPIRE,RR...

He has mentioned the exact price and it barely takes 30seconds to get the original price man. It is not such a hassle, when you are getting something as serious as a motherboard.

As for SP Road, those buggers always say "tax extra and card use cost extra".

I agree.... Amarbir you should give the prices inclusive of taxes & by this I mean a final price where taxes are added....

Its less confusing & less frustrating for the customer. A buyer can actually make out in one glance what is the offered price he has to pay.... ;)

After adding the Taxes, prices go higher.. Newbie in taxes and all will not pay attention on it.. so agree on above posts :)

Well, since it's the customer who's spending and the dealer who's earning, it's not such a hassle for the dealer to do it, right? All other dealers do it.

^^^ i agree with the one glance principle. One doesnt need to calculate how much it costs tehn and then compare to local prices ;)

Just mention: Price including 4% tax. That way your customers can decide quicker :)

When the MRP for a soap is printed as Rs.10/- and you buy paying Rs.10/, does it mean that the seller is evading tax?

Yes And No ,
It Boils Down to did The Consumer Take a Bill Or Not and Was it a Geniune Bill .

:hap2:

if the MRP is 10 bucks then it will have that inclusive of all taxes unless the product mentions LT extra ie local taxes extra which is usually octroi

arre ur getting away from the point :P

Point is, we are requesting rates with the 4% included.. You can mention as including 4% tax, simple.

Or easier option :P

Mention something like:

HDD - 2500 + 4% tax = 2600.

Some more calculations for you, but wayyy easier for some buyers sir, its a reasonable request. If you look, all the others do it and it does make it easier to read :)

Yes, that is it!

@200mph
For any packaged product, it is mandatory to print MRP including taxes. Remember when the law was enacted, the manufacturers made much hue and cry citing different tax structures at different states.

^ mrp + octroi is what you can still do . try couriering something to mumbai from delhi with a attached bill @ mrp also they will charge you octroi . hehe i am studying it so i know a little about it

from my experience , most dealers quote price Ex VAT.Even if one started to quote prices after VAT , it would put them at a disadvantage to those who dont, since most people dont do the compensation while comparing.

As long as they mention the % of tax, i have no issues :)

EDIT: it they quote both, then superb :D

@Amarbir

Then why you are not mentioning any VAT in ******? BTW, don't get emotional and these are just suggestions to make the deal easy for both the buyer and seller.

Too good a price for the IP35-E...
Not really imho. :hap5:
5150+4% = 5356/- iirc.

A friend just picked up one today for 5400/-. :)

Considering Mumbai prices are usually much higher than other places, dunno what you found too good about it gannu.

And Amarbir sir- please post prices inclusive of VAT and any other overheads so that the real cost without shipping is noted easily. :cool2:

If the dealer posts the rate inclusive of the tax the calculations are done just once, But if they jus post the rate and do not calculate, all the interested users will ahv to calculate...SO even in terms of time saving, its beneficial..

So its common sense for the dealer to post price inclusive of vat..
I know its marketing strategy by the dealers..but i think TE can take an exception to it..
