My 2.6yrs old MX518 has finally given up :(, left click ain't registering properly.

Thought of getting the MX518 again, but with its a quality issues n all, am not planning to get it and want to have a change ;).

So planning to get the Razer DA. Have some question regarding the same..

1. How much does it cost? (No GO opened atm :( )

2. How does their warranty work if buy it locally and from newegg respectively ?

3. I assume this mouse can make it for another 1.5 yrs without much of a problem or am i asking too much (Usage : 5 hrs of gaming everyday-FPS).

Any other good alternative? MS intelli 3.0 has low dpi so don't want it.

I don't mind the downtime during the RMA, i'll still have the mx518, Logitech wireless mouse and MX310 (will get it in a month or 2, used it in college, forgot to take it back )

Nope, don't want a Laser or a Cordless Mouse. Even more i have personal hatred towards those cordless variants of gaming mouse

I used DA, and hated it. ( Hated the shape and most importantly size and weight )

Once you are used to MX518, its hard to go back to lighter mice. They just dont feel right.

Get another MX518 if you havent already. Thats what i plan to do. If and when Logitech decided to phase out this mouse, I am gonna make small stockpile of 2 MX518 for future :p

seems t online advice was nt t enough :p,mx 518 users find it quite hard to adapt to DA ,thats what u will find u if u go through some f t popular forums

edit: I typed it from my E51 as power was nt there

^^^omg!!! is that whats called as sms language????? or some other coded language u speaking supra????

and as already suggested by funky and supra, i can confirm that after u get urself adjusted to MX518 it gets damn hard to use any other small mouse like a DA. But again it takes 10-15 days to get adjusted to the new mouse as well if u have no other option left, :)

DA FTW...

And I dont trust the newer MX518 anymore; :(

Cost cutting I feel is due to the quality compromise; :|

If you can live with only 3 buttons a Razer Krait is a very good option..

Razer Krait (12th July 2006) is crappy as my started giving problems after 12 Months (12th July 2007) & died after 18 Months (12th January 2008)

Currently it is recommended to buy only a Logitech MX518 or a Razer DeathAdder or a Steelseries Ikari Optical :)

I think the MS mice are a tad better overall. Plus lower dpi isn't a big deal, gives you better control in fact.

My WMO is still running strong after almost 3 yrs i guess.

Ouch! Are there many reported failures with the Krait? A friend has been using it for a couple of months now and so far its been great for him. But scary to hear about your mouse.

I am a little ignorant about this so please bear with these questions :)

Why the overall preference for optical over laser mice? Any glaring defects with the Logitech Gx series? How are the MS powered by Razer mice?

Do not get the razer krait. It really sucks. Plus, after using mx518 you can never get used to it.
Try using DA from a friend, if you like it go for it. Personally i dont like the grip, its a bit weird. Ive been using mx518 for more than a year now.
You could go for intellimouse, low dpi wont be too much of a difference.

Genius Ergo 525 from a MX518 ? Nah... I own both and would not use the Ergo after the MX purely because of the build quality. The Ergo may use the same sensor as the Razer bu the build quality is nowhere close to that of the MX518.

And knowing Saiyan, he wouldn't touch the Ergo 525 with a 10-foot pole :p
