For the intended usage the above config would be more than enough IMO. If u feel u need more horse power then u can go for a AMD PhenomII X6 1075T hexa core for 9.2k.

I am sure about all the prices to be same in Chennai except the motherboard part. Chk the mother board price locally.

Dark Angel you always suggest the mobo for AMD builds, the " Gigabyte GA-880GMA-UD2H" which even i was looking forward to in my build, sadly all the retailers @lamington and also in vashi (mumbai) say this mobo has exhausted it's stocks.

how i wish i could get this one, :( , anyways, the next mobo after this for 1k more price would be the Asus m4a 88td M evo/usb3 rite?? leving out the msi mobos thnx to Bad A.S.S, what do u think about that ?

Thats coz its a solid board and comes with fully loaded features for <5k. Its listed in TheITWares. You can ping him and enquire about stock. Dealer has a store in Lammy.

TheITWares - One Stop for all Gizmos!GIGABYTE GA-880GMA-UD2H AM3 AMD 880G HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

Plus MSI mobos doesnt have a bad A.S.S AFAIK. U can consider the MSI 880GM-E41~4.1k/ MSI 880GMA-E45 ~ 5.2k

Yeah the A.S.S. support of MSI is better than that of ASUS :) as far as I've heard on TE. Did not prevent me from buying the ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO

ahh thanx for the info, i am not an online buyer , so always approach stores for the peripherals. i find that easier and safe and which majority of the purchasers do :P, neways i had read about 2-3 threads about poor ass from MSI , but whereas found the ASUS service better , donno why, but i did, they helped my frnd with his mobo in a quick time, and explained evryting to him, and moreover they have (acc to me) just opened up their service centre at lammy or rather expanded it in the last year or so, and i prefer the ASUS's build quality, i mean the heatsinks look far better asthetically as well as performance wise !

anyway i will definately look into MSI on ur suggestion for the next built ,

P.S.(i am not saying MSI is bad, was just aloof abt the A.S.S, nuting else)
