Hi, I need some tips and suggestions to get more traffic and ranks on google.

Well, before someone suggests me to "google it out" I'd like to mention that yes I already did and followed the tips and yes I got some good results. :)

But now I want to go further, I want to take the next step.

What's next??

Well, I'm comfortable in spending few bucks about say 5k or so and want to list everywhere in directories like JustDial, Yellow Pages(didn't found how to register with them), and others...

Actually now it's working fine for few keywords, so now need some more professional tips to get more better results on more keywords.

Now I get my site on 1st, 2nd and 3rd for a keyword and on 3rd for another keyword. But I want to add more keywords which I did but no result in 1st page even.

Well, I'd be glad if some professional in this field step in and suggests. I can go for SEO Firms, but i don't want to take that step as I'm more interested to learn this field.

Let me clear some air mate,

1. SEO - > A long term process not procedure

2. Google Spiders / Crawlers - Work round the clock for specific keywords and matches with the business mentioned in the website

3. So does other search engines

4. You have not mentioned which search engine you are targeting

5. You may have to list your business in google diretory which helps a lot

6. Ofcourse keywords play important role like "easy", "Cheap", "free",

7. You have not mentioned what sought of website are you hosting or the link for to idea

8. Continues updates is the only thing google attacks to like dynamic website more less static

9. You may also want to try your fists on Google Ranking System.

10. Get a Book

Last but not least dont forget to thank me.. I was once worked in this long time back

The competition of keywords you're targeting plays a big role in your success. Now other significant things will be your niche, how big and relevant your site content is, how much is the bounce rate from SEO traffic, how often is your site updated, etc.

So make sure you're targeting keywords with lesser competition but substantial amount of searches per month to make it worth for your time.

You may already know this but still,

https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal The tool to find how many searches a term gets per month. How much is an acceptable value for you to work on it again depends on your niche, but if it is even less than 500 EXACT searches, then it's probably not worth it. (Make sure you turn the filter to EXACT and not BROAD which is default). Generally anything above 10,000 searches will have lots of competition, but it varies from niche to niche.

Download Traffic Travis and find out the competition for the keywords you wanna target. IF the competition is way too much and way too strong, then better look for other keywords. Do this until you find some 10 odd good keywords with decent search volumes and acceptable competition.

Then your site should cover each of these keywords in your content. The main 2-3 keywords should be placed in your title, meta tags, description and h1 tags for best results. Now you can target other keywords on a per page basis, making each page optimized for each keyword. Make sure the url of individual pages contain the keyword. In the content area, the keyword you're looking for should appear about 4-5 times throughout, especially in the first and last paragraphs.

Then do link building, by commenting on blogs etc. relevant to your site's content, with a link back. The more back links you get from relevant sites with high PR, the better. Even better, if these back links are do follow. The anchor text of the link backs are very important, so do this such that all your main keywords are covered. Try to do link building regularly, maybe around 10 links per week, but this all depends on your niche and scale of your site. Don't just link back to your homepage, but also to other inner pages.

Within the site, make sure all pages are linked from the homepage. Make the site pleasing and easy on the eye, to reduce the bounce rate. The lesser the bounce rate, Google realizes that this site is relevant and visitors are liking it. If bounce rate is way high, say 80%+, then vice versa. Also, keep all your content within your subject. Keep it highly targeted and don't put in lesser relevant content.

Also, keep in mind that if a site is no 1 in google for a keyword, it typically gets around 40% traffic of all the searches for that keyword. So analyze what is your minimum target traffic per month, and choose your keywords effectively, aiming to reach no 1 for all those keywords.

With the money you're willing to spend, you can look for an SEO expert in freelancing sites and get a few high quality back links. This will do you a world of good. Make sure the guy you're hiring is an SEO expert and has got good reviews.

Hope that helps. :D

Thanks guys for the tips :)

Well, yes I didn't mentioned the website because I work as a freelancing web developer. And I want to SEO all my works so that my client likes it.

And I do some basic SEO which makes their sites appear in at least 1st page and sometimes between 1st to 3rd post. Well, I follow the same rule here too, I analyze the competition for keyword and use that in meta tags and H1 tags and use alt in img tags and use the meta tags etc.

These gives me at least basic SEO. Now one of my client wants to go further and want to get more hits. Today he called me up and said Yellow Pages contacted him and wants him to go further and he can get more traffic and hits and he wants to spend some money and wants to go further. So he was asking for my suggestion and I suggested him to go with Yellow Pages as they will of course do a better job than me.

So now I want to know the ways out so that later I can also handle it rather than suggesting them to go with others as I don't know the field. And also I'm highly suspecting he may come back or may not be comfortable with the fees Yellow Pages will demand from him. But still, either way I want to learn the field.

Any link, forum, blog, books anything even simply your ideas will do.

Well, to help you suggest me further let's now go ahead with http://www.urogynaecologistinkolkata.com/
