Hi All

I am looking to buy a PC for office work, programming, browsing and occasional gaming with a budget of 20k, finalized on the below

Intel E5200 2.5GHZ
Gigabyte EG31M-S2L
WD 500GB Black caviar HD
Corsair 2GB 800MHz Ram
Zebronics bijli with SMPS
LG DVDR 22X
Dell S1909W
Microsoft KB+Mouse
Creative Inspire 2.1 M2600

do you think this config is ok to go with?
can someone suggest a better one in AMD within the budget?

regards,
Venkat

Nice config, go for 4GB RAM, if U can increase budget slightly then go for new Athlon X2, Phenom II X2 CPUs + 790GX. Otherwise above setup is also enough for above mentioned tasks excluding gaming.

Do you think I need to add a GPU for the above config?
or the one onboard will be enough?
If I go for below AMD config do you think I need to increase my budget,
also will the 2GB ram be sufficient for this config?
Biostar TA790GXB
AMD X2 7750+

Biostar TA790GXB

AMD X2 7750+

Dell S1909W - considering this as a 19"lcd monitor and "occasional gaming" of yours meaning playing some of 2008 -09 released 3D games ; then you need a graphics card. I will suggest to go for 4670(rs.4300/-) or 4770(rs.7.5k) depending on your budgets.

the laterone also need a good smps with 16pin. What is the rating of the current psu ?

DUAL Core X2 - 7750 BE 2.7GHz, 3MB, AM2-3650

AMD 780G MA78GM-US2H 16x, 8 Ch. S, L, HDMi 4900 -4500

just go for 9600gt if you've got a constraint budget it'll be about 4.4.5k

the rest u can spend on ram & other stuff of your choice..most likely it'll be within 20k :p

I don't think I will be doing that gaming also.
May be playing simple games.

If I opt for AMD combo what would be best cabinet supported including SMPS?
I am looking for cabinet with SMPS under 2K

in that case you may consider nvidia/ati onboard gpu - you may get in same price point but better graphics and video performance-also you can play some old(released in 2007,2005,2004 etc) games in descent setting. For verny generic flash-web-browser based gaming (like zapak) any intel/nvidia/ati igp based mobo will be enough for you.

I think zebronics bijli cabby will be good for you.

Considering your current work - you can also consider getting a laptop or ION based computer - very tinny in size-less power-less heat

I had a laptop , which was stolen few months back from my home.
I have decided to go for a desktop which is less vulnerable.

Can you suggest a good mobo for E5200 which comes with a decent graphics card?

Also is there any better AMD config that costs me less than E5200 +G31 combo?

e5200+g31 is famous for its oc capability and dart cheap - both comes in around 6k total. For onboard graphics GeForce 9300/9400 mobo are there which will be price somewhere around 7k~8.5k.
while the intel based g31 mobo will only cost you around 2.5 k, so I will suggest you to add a entrey level graphics card within a range of 3-4k ( ati 3650 or nvidia 9500gt).
initially you can go this e5200+g31 mobo with your current config and check the intel igp - if it feels your need thn no need to invest more - if you feel the need later you can always get a entry level card as suggested.

check this link for motherboad price

by the way

will zebronics bijli be sufficient for the above e5200config

or

do I need to go for cooler master 330 with 360W SMPS?

zebby bijli comes witrh 400w generic smps (as per theitwires) costing 1700 and cm 330 will cost you around 2.2k (as per theitwires)

i like the design of zebby bijli w psu - will do for your config if you are not getting graphics card (other than htpc card)

You could also take a look at ASUS P5SLI mobo..it is better than g31m.....and costs around 2.7k...and it will be a better option if u intend to add a gpu later
