I want to buy a 5.1 analog speaker for my PC. The purpose - watching movies, TV shows & listening to music.
Budget around Rs. 5K (including sound card, if needed)
My PC configuration - ASUS M4A88TM-LE Motherboard, AMD Athlon II X2 260 3.20GHz processor, on board Audio Chipset - Realtek ALC887 8-Channel High Definition Audio
I want to buy Creative SBS 5.1 channel speaker.
Now my question is:
1) My Onboard audio chipset has 3 ports - 1 Line out, 1 Line in & 1 Mic in. I ve heard that the Creative SBS 5.1 also has 3 PC connectors & I ve also heard that these 3 connectors are not compatible with the 3 ports of the PC. Is that true?
One guy told me that, I can map 3 ports of the PC with software to play sound on all 5 speakers but that will damage the speaker after few months. Is this true?
2) Do i ve to buy a Sound card to make the speaker compatible? If it is so, which one?
Please suggest. Thank you.
