Guys, i need to buy a good one with excellent warranty support (where the customer should not be made to go pillar to post) and good performance.

Seagate freeagent Go flex - this comes with a dock which makes the drive lengthier. Basically i dont like this type of docking thingy. The only thing which i should do is connect the USB cable and be on the GO

Western Digital My Passport essential 3.0 - Is there difference between the passport and the essential ?. In WD drives there is no dock and i can directly connect the USB 2.0 or 3.0 cable ( the drive comes with a 2 in 1 port unlike the seagate where the 2.0 and 3.0 have different docks). I have made my mind to go for this one. But some reviews say that it crashes sometimes and the failure rate of these WD drives are horrible when compared to seagate

My requirement is :

(1) A drive which gives good performance and has a good ASS

(2) A drive which doesnt require any kind of dock which will make it lengthier (like seagate, though it is detachable) and wherein i can use both USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 cable in the same port ( i know that 2.0 port occupies 40% of the same USB 3.0 port)..

(3) Less failure rate and low possibility of file corruption

(4) Should come with a USB 3.0 cable since the price difference isnt too much (I hope 3.0 cable is 100% compatible with USB 2,0 port and will not give out any BSODs )

Dont have idea about other brands like transcend and toshiba and about their ASS either...

On a side note, if the price diff. isnt much then i am ready to shell an extra 1k or 1.5k for a 1TB drive
Please suggest

thanx a lot in advance
