Hi
My budget is around 18k
I want a CPU (preferably socket 939) a motherboard with on board VGA and 512 MB RAM

can anyone give me suggestions for all 3 ?
first off all is such a mother board for socket 939 with onboard VGA available ?
else any other combos ?

Just 512MB or 2x512MB??
better the latter!!

for 18k, i think you can get any of the following, with no onboard gfx options but definitely improved gaming experience-

Transcend512MB + A8NE 2.0 + XFX6600(nonGT) + 939pin 3000+
2k + 5.5k + 5.5k + 5.5k!!

2x512MB + foxconnNF4XK8MC/Asrock Dual SATA + XFX6600 + 939 3000+
4k + 3k/3.5k + 5.5k + 5.5k!!
(add A8NE here instead of other two if more features and better quality reqd and budget bit more flexible)

prices approx '+/- 100to200 bucks per item'.

Please confirm all rates, especially XFX6600!!

For mobo with onboard gfx,
value version of A8N- VM CSM is the A8N-VM costing 4k!!

First question, do u want to game or not? If u want to go for a separate graphics card, but if u dont just go for a mobo with onboard graphics. Plus go with 2X512 MB RAM instead of just 512 MB.

i have Asus A8V-MX for sale.VIA onboard+939 pin..Just what you are looking for.

Its available for 2500 [shipped]

See, even medium level gaming will not run very good with today's onboard. So instead go with a separate graphics card, it will be much better than onboard. So heres the config i would suggest

AMD Athlon 64 3000+ - 5.7k
Asus A8N-E - 5.5k or Foxconn mobo(nforce 4 ultra) is 1k less i think.
2X512 MB Twinmos RAM - 3.6k
Geforce 6200 TC 2.7k

Would recommend spending a bit more and going for a slightly better graphics card, or alternatively u can go with a mobo with onboard graphics now and add a graphics card later, thats also a good option if ur happy with the onboard for now.

Hey Cyclops-
Please define medium level gaming!!:cool2:
For some, even X850XT/gto2 will be medium level!!:P

AFAIK, stay away from 6200TC for gaming!!

Better get the A8N VM and save some money on 'mobo w/o onboardgfx+6200TC'!!:)

Add a 'PCIe 6600' later, if need be!!;)

Someone is testing a A8N VM and after you define your gaming requirements, maybe he can or i will on his behalf, will be able to tell if it meets your need.
:hap2:

I wud suggest
AMD 3000+-5.5k
Asrock 939 mobo- arnd 3k(not sure)
Trancend 2*512mb=3.6-4K
XFX 6600( non GT)-5-6K

Total- Abt 18K

It wud be better if u spend 2k MORE AND GET XFX 6600GT
