Well in budget and considering you would be doing video recording too...Canon 550D is best option for you

forget dslr if you wana double it as a camcoder . dslr video is or movie makers ..
sorry, i could not understand what you are trying to say..
i need dslr with HD recording capabilities...recording will be indoor house and family outings..

The auto focus during video recording is not that good with DSLRs you will have to manually focus the lens , and with the shallow dof of dslrs easily subjects go out of focused .

its better to go for a cam coder or a point and shoot for smooth videos if you use AF while shooting

If you want good HD video recording get the Sony A35 DSLT ,this one has the edge when it comes to AF in videos ,Sony SLT are the only cameras out there which uses Phase detect AF ,unlike other DSLR which uses the contrast detect AF ,it also has a the brilliant sensor.
