As in title.
For the Linux Laptop
I've found some options, like the Dell "new" Inspiron 14, LG Gram 14, HP Envy 14, wanted Dell Latitude also, but from their site it seems you need to be a business with valid GSTIN to buy those
Software I run includes VSCode, Postman, Chrome, Nodejs, Java, React and PostgresSQL database, also and most importantly, Docker containers, this is my main problem with the Macbook Airs because apple silicon chips, so for the purposes of Docker is 8GB enough on the Macbook Air, I guess architecture emulation + running VM for the linux kernel for docker may be taxing on the system.
For the Linux Laptop
- Should have 16GB version for soldered RAM or atleast those SODIMM slots so I can upgrade RAM myself
- IPS screen 14" even bigger will do with centered keyboard, 16:10 aspect ratio preferred, would like a res like 2560 x 1600p if possible.
- Intel WiFi card
- Centered, Backlit TKL( as in no numpad ) keyboard
- 1x HDMI, 2x USB-A, atleast 1x USBC with DP support
- Big battery, more than 57 whr atleast
- Aluminum, Magnesium or any other sturdy chassis
- 256GB SSD minimum, should be M2 slotted.
- Brands excluding Lenovo, Acer, Asus( bad experiences with all 3 )
- Option to increase warranty should be there by manufacturer.
