all I am saying is that even the most stringent of rules are undermined by complacent enforcement.

I know that its not possible for the mods of TE to keep a watchful eye on each and everything and reprimand everyone on the slightest of issues.
after all everyone has jobs and real life to deal with and even then volunteer their services.

1)So either we should be looking at increasing the number of volunteers/moderators who would spare an hour or two whenever they can in the Market area,

2)or Putting up a disclaimer in Large font in the market section that all the deals you do are at your own risk, i.e. TE should wash its hands of all responsibility of all further transactions/exchanges Publicly and on full view. Because lets face it, everyone who makes a deal here do so knowing the reputation of this forum and assuming (naively) that there would be some kind of mechanism to reverse bad deals and met out sanctions/penalty to the seller for dishonest practices.

3)or redirect everyone who wants to make a deal/purchase to any other online portal like ebay, effectively shutting down the market section.

@chetansha
I am really sorry for my offtopic posts in your thread, but I felt this needed to be said.
I hope your issue gets sorted at the earliest.

I kind of agree with this. I don't think that the current market mods have enough time to check each and everything out. Yes I know that we have report option. But I once got a PM for "abusing" report option. Dunno what I had done. And I'm still not sure what to report and what not to. :S

Instead of completely scrapping the system increasing/appointing volunteers for market section seems better alternative. Rules are already defined/made there and these volunteers need to follow/use them for verifying posts. In case of ambiguity they can discuss among themselves and if still not clear matter can be escalated to mods. May be we can name them as 'The MarketMods' :P

None of this is required. All that's required is honesty. Wish that members treat this as a large family and not cheat other members. But there are rouges and charlatans whose only intention is to make a quick buck and move on.
