Hey

My dad's thinking of buying a new car (sedan). Budget is around 9-12 lacs. I don't have a real idea about cars. I'll be getting this car next year, so I should be of good build quality. Looks ARE important. Should have enough space, and be comfortable to drive.

Thinking about Civic, but any other suggestions?

you can consider Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla... if you are worried about the fuel part and need good fuel efficiency, then go for the Optra Magnum 2.0 TDCi LT.. its got a stunner of an engine thats light on the pocket and its rear seat is by far the most comfortable that i have sit into in the cars of this price range.... though overall i think honda civic is the best bet if the fuel part is not a criterion

Altis finds more favour among older people, while Civic appeals more to youngsters. Though personally I prefer the Civic over Altis. A cut price option could be a fully loaded top of the line City(Auto). City almost offers what the Civic does at a reasonably lower price.

Im going for the Cedia whether you guys like it or not. I own one and I know its good for the price. And now with the ACC and new system its even better value.

Think I didn't make myself clear. Dad's going to buy the car now. But next year (when I'm 18), he's going to give me the car. The car has to bought NOW :bleh:

Civic is the popular opinion however if you really want something fun to drive, nothing beats a Cedia. I own one and every moment with it has been amazing. Alternatively look for a used Skoda vRS which is probably the best driver's car you can get at a sane price.

If you wanna buy one then go and grab a used skoda vRS.. nothing beats that... even try out the magnum tdci as it has a beast of an engine turning out a huge amount of torque... as an overall package civic is very good

It has horrible handling and road manners and I mean it :P. Its a straight line missile that doesn't turn :P. You'd understeer into the first tree if you are not careful. Lovely car otherwise. Very comfy back seat.
