As the topic says wanted a suggestion for a mobile phone.

Max Budget is 10K.

Suggest Sony Er.... , Nokia.

Can i get a Symbian OS powered Phone.
 
Also, the N-gage QD would fit in your budget + a 512 MB MMC.
Another recommendable option would be Motorola E398. [If you are comfortable with flashing and the stuff, then all the better.] ;)
 
The K700i has stereo mp3 , u sure on this. and its 11K.
Also how much MB space and does it have flash card support.
for more memory.

Most Degradive Quality of K700i:
No Memory Expansion Option.

- K700i is available here for Rs. 10,450 without bill n waranty.
- FM Radio : Yeah, it has it.
- Mp3 Player : That, too, is present.
- Memory card support : As I've said, that's not present and also, its the biggest drawback. Its got only around 41 MB of in-built storage.
- Bluetooth & Infrared : Yeah, Its got both of 'em! :cool1: :yahoo:

Solution for the Memory Restriction:
Use aac compression (mp4) - will give you file sizes much smaller than mp3 for the same quality. Not as good as expandable memory, but better than nothing.

What abt the cost is it 11K or less. [confirm]

Also heard that this peice has max 41MB memory. :mad:

How is the audio Quality of the Mp3 Player.
Will add 6-7 songs atleast , more than enuf for a day.
And it also has Radio.
 
s.e k700i u can get it for 9-9.5 grands without bill
mp3 is stereo(sounds good on the fm headphones supplied) so has fm support,bluetooth and infrared and the photos taken also r decent(dont compare it to 1.3mp and above) has got around 41mb storage space only major disadvantage cant increase the storage space:mad: its a very good phone personally have one and very satisfied with it:hap2:
 
It has infra red on the phone and my friend bought one for 10k flat with bill and warranty in a local shop (not lamington road or hera panna).
 
Yup no mempry support otherwise a excellent fone. 3230 around 12k and 6600 around 10k are other options in smart fones while e398 is a good option in non-smart fones.

Current Models i m looking at for purchase
K700i , 3230 , 6230i
 
The 3230 is a real POS... Stay away from that dirt...

Instead, get a Moto E398 or the SE K700i. I believe, your father is no music buff. So, 20 - 24 songs at a go should suffice for him... :D

The sound quality is amazing, to say the least. I've tested it on many of my friend's phones. Plus, you get the Radio and an extremely pleasing UI. The phone has good looks, that you can flaunt in public.

From previous experience, I've gathered that most business/executive people go in for something that captures attention than something that's bulky, ugly and loaded with confusing features... :p

As a matter of fact, the SE K700i manages a perfect balance between functionality and looks.

Hence, I'd recommend your dad to go in for it. If he doesn't agree, then show him this post here... ;)
 
do not buy 3230 for your audio needs! it has an absolute rubbish mp3 mono player.the stereo fm radio is somewhat ok...

if u want a decent mp3 stereo phone arnd 10k then you should consider only non symbian phones:k700i or E398... or maybe the old 6230 if available............
SE phones have the best quality mp3 player(k700i,k750i,s700i)

as for sqeezing more songs in your k700i u can also use a simple program called "diet mp3)
 
I know how to compress mp3 files to 32Kbps.
Looks the K700i is the best deal.
As the audio quality rocks on it.
mostly my dad will really like since its not also bulky.
Can we record FM on k700i phone as AAC or Mp3 files.
