I have intel dual core 5200,2gb ddr2ram what is the best graphics card to make use of processor's maximum potential.

6670 or 6570 or 6450

I have seen in some sites 6450 ideal power consumption 144 watts, load power consumption (crysis) 178 watts, but TDP 27 watts what is the actual power consumption of graphics card.

6670 will be absolutely fine with that processor of yours

Ideal power consumption of the whole system with 6450 is 144 W and 178 W on load... MAX power consumption of 6450 must be 30W.

AnandTech - AMD's Radeon HD 6450: UVD3 Meets The HTPC I guess this is what you must have seen. Its clearly mentioned that its TOTAL SYSTEM POWER CONSUMPTION. TDP of different segments of cards is different.

Thank you muzux2,chiragsthakur for your clarification.

Do you mean I can use maximum potential of processor & graphics card in this combination.

No, to get the maximum of your graphics card you will have overclock your processor from stock 2.5Ghz to 3.0Ghz or above. Its always good to keep the graphics card fed with information so that it can continue rendering to its potential. New Graphics cards (viz Ati HD6xxx series) are a lot more powerful compared to earlier generation cards. So according to me you will gain performance if you OC your processor till 3.0ghz.

If I overclock my intel dual core to 3.0ghz what is the tdp value at that time and what kind of performance difference I will get compared to using it without overclocking. What do you think about 6570 can I make use of full potential of this graphics card without overclocking the precessor, in this gpu there is confusion of ddr3,ddr5 most review sites are posting results of ddr5 version but in indian market we are getting only ddr3 version of 6570 and 6450.

nvidia gts 450 or anything else like that or anything in range of 6670.which one is good for using badaboom or similar software to conveert videos faster

how fast will this gfx cards convert videos because of cuda cores

hmm at the price of a 6670 u can get a gts 250 which is obviously a lot faster than a 6670 but its power consumption and heat generation is also much higher......

I got my post updated after one day it is frustrating and a real pain others were discussing actively I could not see my post updated after this much of delay most probably it won't noticed by people.

I prefer power saving card I know 5700 is better card than 6670 with marginal price increase but my processor is dual core (even other people suggest me to overclock the processor to use the full potential of hd 6670) and main intention is feeding my home theater and casual gaming (I could even play games like NFS most wanted, fifa 08,Price of Persia ... with my present onboard graphics) but lack of hdmi port is the reason I am buying graphics card and expecting to play other games like crysis, call of duty4 and all with medium setting.

DDR3 performance will be lower than the DDR5 versions.

chiragsthakur recommended me to overclock my dual core processor to make use of full potential of 6670 do you think intel e5200 could not drive 6670 to its full potential ( or atleast 90%) without overclocking If I overclock my intel dual core to 3.0ghz what is the tdp value at that time and what kind of performance difference I will get compared to using it without overclocking. What do you think about 6570 can I make use of full potential of this graphics card without overclocking the precessor, how much performance difference between 1gb ddr3, 512 mb ddr5 most review sites are posting results of ddr5 version but in Indian market we are getting only ddr3 version of 6570 and 6450.

My main intention of purchasing graphics card is feeding my home theater and casual gaming (I could even play games like NFS most wanted (720p at 15fps),fifa 08(30fps),Prince of Persia ... with my present onboard graphics) but lack of hdmi port is the reason I am buying graphics card and expecting to play other games like crysis, call of duty4,nfs & fifa new series … with medium setting.I have some other thought in my mind also buying media player like asus (around Rs.4000) for the time being and after two years upgrade my whole pc to the latest configuration which one is better decision.
