bang on target!
Im also on the lookout for the same... searched Ritchie stree, But they have only Zebronics HDD Dock... Products Micellanous Products, Sata Hdd Docking Station With card reader and USB dock, Best Mscellanous Products

Bit skeptical about buying Zebronics, as there are no reviews about it. But the price is competitve too...1650 INR, i presume.
A HDD dock which can support > 1TB wud be more future proof as 1TB has become the norm now and soon will be replaced by 1.5 and 2TB HDDs.;)
Any tips on HDD docks which can be bought locally would be greatly appreciated.
TIA...

I haven't seen Zebronics yet. How was the quality & what accessories included.. mediahome is also selling a generic HDD dock but its generic & no eSATA cable. Its listed on Lynx website but I don't know if its in stock or not...

I am yet to figure out that 1TB limitation. I was under the impression that any capacity HDD could be used...

^.. Not listed on Prime website anymore. I don't know if they have stock or not... Someone from Mumbai who can help out with this...

Hailstone i would not advise you to go for these Docks. I myself had a Sunbeamteach and a Vantec Dock. They break down after like 6 months of Usage. You ask several other forum members here about their HDD Dock experience and then take a decision. I mean if u r getting them for 1.5K then its a worthwhile investment even for like 8-9 months otherwise anything like 2K for these products dsnt make much sense to me.

^^ Can you elaborate? I have the Sunbeamtech dock, and been using it for maybe a year or so, and I have absolutely no problems. What problems did you face? And how often did you use it? I'm using it just for backup of data, so I power it on maybe once a day and for around 10 to 15 mins max.

I am myself using Vantech HDD Dock. Got it through KMD long time back.. I think it was ~2-3 years ago... Using it regularly for moving data to my dump HDD's. It works great. Never used it for long hours of activity like downloading. Granted it gets pretty hot after some time & being made of plastic its problematic but then these were never meant to be used for longer periods & only for backup...

i too am using it for over a year & havent had any problems as yet.

Damn. I guess this is my bad luck. I dont have it switched on 24/7 . I use it to take Backup. But incase of Vantec Dock after Inserting the Disk in I am unable to detect it in the PC/System properly. a Win7 popup comes up saying that i need to format the drive. But the Drive works perfectly when connected internally, I am able to access every folder properly. Its just that its not detected in Win7 when i connect through the Dock. I changed the USB Wires but still the same proble. So i am guessing its a problem with the Dock itself. Also i read some reviews/comments here about how fragile(physically and performance wise both) this device is really.
Maybe i got a Bad piece. In that case i apologise for the wrong information i posted.
