Google’s Sundar Pichai is reportedly in the run to become the new CEO at Microsoft. According to several sources, the exec is up against Satya Nadella to replace Steve Ballmer, but no official statements have been made thus far.

But who is Sundar Pichai?

Well, first of, he was born in Chennai, India, in 1972 and got his education at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. He later got an M.S. from Stanford University and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

In 2004, Pichai joined Google where he became product management leader for a series of Google products, including Chrome and Chrome OS. He is also one of the main people who worked on Google Drive.

Currently, Sundar Pichai is senior vice president for Android, Chrome and Apps.

Going to Microsoft would be a huge step for Pichai’s career, moving up from SVP to CEO. However, it remains to be seen if the rumors are true in the first place, not to mention whether he will quit Google after so many years.

Several years ago, Twitter tried to poach Pichai as well, but Google offered him $50 million in stock to turn down the job.
