Hi,

I have an 1TB HDD external which is connected to Seagate dockstar(USB port) and downloads all movies to HDD.I used to play files on HDD through media player, so everytime I need to disconnect the HDD from dockstar and connect to media player.

I am looking for a solution to avoid USB removal everytime and thinking of KVM switch in between:P. But all the KVM's are for PC sharing (for keyboard and mouse) which is not suit for my requirement:@.

Anyone have idea ?

Which media player are you using? If its network player then you can easily add the media player to the network and share the files from the dockstar.

Currently i am using my friend's asus o!player mini for the time being, and planning to buy the same, which doesn't have wifi, but support ext3. Even if I buy one with wifie( like xtreame), which is more costly and I need to upgrade my wifi router :-(, currently it's G router.

The asus mini player doesn't seem to have any wired network option either. So it would be better if you get a player having a wired network option at least so you can setup a network and share the data from the dockstar.

Asus O! Play HDP-R1 is out of my budget !, I am looking for another low cost player with ether net or a switch like kvm.
