sync chrome bookmarks with google bookmarks automatically...anyone yet?

Im not sure if anyone has done this quest....but if you have , we know that its a shame that google toolbar is not available in Chrome.
Now in the words of google itself CHROME HAS 'ALMOST ' ALL FEATURES OF toolbar and hence it comes SANS toolbar.

Has anyone figured out a way to sync Chrome and Google bookmarks automatically?

Cheers

ATM, there is currently no way to automatically sync these two sets of bookmarks AFAIK. However, you can use a bookmarklet to easily save a bookmark in Google Bookmarks from Google Chrome. And then you can use Chrome address bar to directly search through your Google Bookmarks.

1. Get the bookmarklet from Google itself.

2. To add Google Bookmark search to the Chrome address bar follow these steps:

Right-click in chrome address bar >> Edit >> Add >> Name: Google Bookmark ; Keyword: gob ; URL: http://google.com/bookmarks/find?&q=%s >> OK.

Now you can use your chrome address bar to search through your Google Bookmarks by typing the keyword gob in address bar followed by the search term. Works great. :)

I also faced the same issue as you, i have too many bookmarks and have tried the google bookmarklet option too.
But the prospect of going through those extra effort is kind of too much for me. :)

Hence I have turned up using Chrome Sync for the same.

So after the Sync now I just add a bookmark on my office machine, and when I go home and switch on my laptop, and open chrome, I see the same bookmarks there too (with all my folder and sub-folders). This works fine for me till Google allows syncing with the google bookmarks.

If you want you existing Google Bookmarks to be added to Chrome Sync Bookmarks then do the following:

1. Export the bookmarks as a file from Google Bookmarks
2. import it to Chrome
3. Since sync is enabled, it would be automatically synced across all place where you use Chrome with Sync.
4. If you cannot use/import the exported bookmarks directly from the Google Bookmarks then first import the bookmarks to FF, export the FF bookmarks and then import that bookmark file to Chrome

Here are some link on how to set it up Chrome Sync and more:

^^ You've to use Google Chrome's dev for that.. And its a bit buggy and less polished than the original one tbh. :)
